Incredible Cooking Class
My sister and I were so excited to find a cooking class while we were holidaying in Lagos. When we arrived we were greeted so warmly by Fabi, and when our chef Jo arrived, it felt like we were ready to bake with old friends.It was a real hands on experience with the whole process of making the pastei de nata and Jo was an excellent teacher. The two hours simply whizzed by and when we got to eat what we made, we felt like we were in heaven. There is nothing like a warm pastei de nata, fresh from the oven to fuel your soul. As soon as we got back to our apartment, the recipe had already been sent to our emails.I highly recommend this cooking class, as we absolutely adored the entire experience. It is a fun way to learn about the culture, from shopping in the market with Joanna to cooking in the kitchen with her experienced mother, Corinna. The dishes were made with simple fresh ingredients with so much flavour. I wish I could captured that smell with my camera when I took the photos! I always want to try catapalan. However, most of the restaurants only offer the dish for 2 people. Now I learned how to make it!

Realy fun experience ! We went 4 people. Me, my husband, my sister and her husband. It was ”my grandma’s recipes”, and we all help to make the food. It was a expensive, but we booked via ” Cool Destinations” and did’t pay when I booked. Very nice and enthusiastic ladies, one of the reasen to the grade🙌

Pedro is great! This is an unusual experience… in a good way!!. He welcomes you into his home, you have an opportunity to have real conversation about food, culture, history, family, etc. He taught us how to make a typical Portuguese meal (Cataplana). We also enjoyed time on his rooftop while making his carrot salad and having a cocktail. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Don’t hesitate to book!

My husband and I recently took a cooking class at The Kitchen and had an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and they made the entire class feel both fun and educational.The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and the recipes were easy to follow, allowing us to create some truly delicious and beautiful dishes. The atmosphere was so welcoming and lively, and we felt right at home. Best of all, everything we made was incredibly tasty! We left feeling inspired and excited to try out our new skills at home. Nested in historical Lagos, the Kitchen is all we could have wished for! Filipa and Gabriela, our hoastesses, received the four of us with open arms, hugs and smiles! The setting is bright, friendly and soon gives you the feel you're cooking at a friend's house, preparing a family recipe! What a joy! The amount of time for the whole experience is perfect; and did I say with plenty of amazing Portuguese wine?! The recipes were simple and feasible, and the outcome .... oh, the outcome!! My favorite was really the "arroz doce," (a desset I must say I could not stand before this time!). Filipa, the chef, immerged us in her family history and her love for her grandmother, a joyful way to honor tradition and share the sacred time of a meal! Thank you, Filipa! Best wishes and all our love!

Incredible experience
We had an amazing time making pastel de natas in this experience. We had a full group but we all got a lot of attention so that everyone’s turned out perfect. We enjoyed learning about the techniques used, and how shop-bought versions differ to homemade ones. We got to make 3 pastel de natas each and of course they all turned out delicious! Definitely recommend this experience.

Fantastic Pastel de Nata Baking Class
We had a wonderful experience at the Pastel de Nata baking class at The Kitchen!Everything was very well organized, the kitchen was spotless, and the small group of only four people created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our chef was teaching her first class in English, and she did an excellent job. She was very kind, professional, and explained everything clearly.We started the class with a delicious homemade Port wine cocktail, and at the end we enjoyed a small glass of Port wine together while tasting our freshly baked Pastéis de Nata. It was a lovely touch that made the experience even more special.We had a fantastic time and are now excited to bake Pastéis de Nata at home. We would definitely recommend this class to anyone visiting Lagos or Algarve!
