Top Greece Dance Lessons

Maria was absolutely wonderful to work with, she helped set up multiple large group dance lessons for our groups this summer and each group had a wonderful time. Its such a great cultural activity to add to your trip while on the island.

This was a fun and very entertaining evening. I made our reservation directly with the restaurant. There is no charge for the show. You are charged for your food. The food was good. I would recommend this show.

After watching Greek dancing at several restaurants we were craving to join in and welcomed the opportunity to learn how. We were greeted immediately and experienced a remarkably patient and effective step-by-step instruction that rapidly taught us to dance like Zorba! This was a fun class that gave us a glowing sense of achievement. It is appropriate and recommended for all ages.

It was great! Professor Markus has a lot of historical knowledge about the various traditional Greek dances and is a wonderful professional dancer. Even in a short time, he was able to teach us many steps. The place is very interesting, a house with stories! I highly recommend the activity.

We had a great time with the Greek dance demonstration and instructions. The dancers wore traditional Greek costumes and were very patient with us as we tried to learn the dance steps. The dinner was also fabulous. The food was very delicious and there was more than we could eat. I highly recommend booking this event

Maria is incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and thoughtful. Hiking through, and learning about Old Farsa was otherworldly. It’s one of the travel treasures you’ll always cherish so get off the beaten path and track Maria down!! Maria and her ancestors have danced these Greek folk dances for centuries and she takes you to “THE spot” they would dance them for centuries and teaches them to you. That’s very special. The view is amazing and the energy is palpable. My daughter is a dance major and has an interest in folk dance so it was definitely the highlight of her trip. Even if you don’t dance or aren’t even that interested in folk dance, what you will learn and experience in this tour will open you up to another world and you will leave a better person. It is a fairly intense hike up to Old Farsa(there won’t be others around I can almost promise you:). I wore flip flop sandals and a long skirt. I made it but would have been more comfortable in shorts and trainers. The tour ended at her families lovely restaurant with a little snack and taste of local wine. I hope to keep in touch with Maria, she’s a great teacher and lovely soul.

Great time with salsa lovers discovering a latin dance spot in the city while having a private host and excellent dance partner - I am already an advanced dancer and so i did not take the lesson but I enjoyed having a local to spend the night with. Highly recommended!

Taking a dance class at Dora Stratou was an unforgettable highlight of my time in Athens. The instructor was not only incredibly patient but also deeply knowledgeable about the various regional styles and the cultural significance behind each dance. Whether you’re a beginner or have some dance experience, the class is welcoming and easy to follow. It was a joyful, immersive way to connect with Greek traditions, and so much fun! Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and engaging cultural activity.

It was professional. Marina went to great lengths with the three of us. We had a lot of fun. We would definitely come back. The dance class took place in great spaces in the middle of the Plaka.

I have always loved to dance and the Greek dance master class was the best present for my birthday organized by my boyfriend! An experienced Greek dance teacher, Maria not only perfectly explains all the dance moves, she is erudite and interesting. Maria prepared for us a tour and a story about the historical places of Kafelonia, which from the first minutes relaxed us and set us up for friendly communication. My boyfriend learned to dance for the first time in his life and I am happy that it was Greek dances, because we danced holding hands all together and it was a kind of support when performing quite difficult movements. A beautiful location on the seashore to the sounds of Greek music created a special atmosphere for learning Greek dance. With Maria, we learned three Greek dances, one of which was a Kefelon dance and counted as many as 12 different steps. We enjoyed the lesson in a friendly atmosphere, personally, I haven't laughed as much as at this moment in such a long time. I am very happy that we found not only a fantastic Greek dance teacher, but also a true friend in Kafelonia. We recommend everyone who has never danced before or has dance experience to try at least one private Greek dance lesson with Maria and you will fall in love with Greece forever! I think this may be the best activity to start or end the trip to Athens. It is an activity that welcomes you to this beautiful country and allows you to experience Greek food and music. I absolutely recommend it, I took away beautiful memories of this experience.

The agency offered us this evening tour and since we had had a great time with the morning tour to monastiraki we accepted. The food was delicious and the show beautiful and engaging. Furthermore, Athens is beautiful when illuminated in the evening
