Tom was an amazing guide and wealth of knowledge. He made sure to customize the tour to our interests and was very helpful photography tips and tricks. We cannot recommend him enough. We look forward to getting back to Haines and booking another tour.

The instructor was knowledgeable, thoughtful, organized and helpful the entire time. He helped and guided the entire time. It was fun and amazing to see the final pieces that we created!

Not only were we graced by the lights, but Nathan captured us in stunning photos so we weren’t stressing over figuring out our cameras. Nathan was a fantastic tour guide and photographer! The hot pizzas and cookies on a cold night were a treat too. We took another aurora tour with a different provider the night before and were in a huge group crammed into a tight cabin with light coming out of it and people flashing their flashlights in our eyes while they tried to figure out their cameras to capture the lights. Instead, Electric Moose provided a very small group of only 10 people, so it felt like hanging out with a few friends, and Nathan had individual time with each of us to capture all sorts of gorgeous pics in his expertly-located remote secret spot where there was minimal light and beautiful scenery that made our pics stunning. Nathan was so enthusiastic it was contagious. Our group was sharing pics and marveling at the lights together all night and although the temps were low and winds high, Nathan’s heated tent provided the perfect toasty warming shelter. We woke up later in the day to the spectacular album of pics. This tour made for a once-in-a-lifetime night for us and we absolutely recommend it!

It was a great experience. Cold and windy night, and Nathan took care of us. Very knowledgable. Great pics. We had great aurora that night. He knew were to go for the great views. He was pretty excited about what we saw that night too. Highly recommend.

What a completely amazing experience. Tabitha is a wonderful person and the view of the Northern Lights was unbeatable. We had a tour scheduled for a Saturday night and on Friday, she gave us a call that the lights were expected to put on a better showing on Friday night. Because of her forethought, we were able to see what was likely the best viewing of the year.

If you want to photograph the real Alaska, hire a photoguide. Specifically, spend a day with Todd Whetstine of Capture Wild Alaska. Todd is an excellent teacher and guide. He takes you to fabulous vistas and explains how best to capture the shot you want. I've worked with Todd since 2019 and my photography has improved by leaps and bounds. I look forward to my next trip to Alaska.

Unfortunately, due to poor weather, our experience was cancelled. However, our contact, Tabitha, worked tirelessly with over several hours, watching the weather to see if there was any chance of a break in the cloud cover that would provide an opportunity to view the northern lights. When it came time to make the call, Tabitha said it just wasn’t going to happen, offered a couple of alternatives which were not timely for us, and said she would process a full refund based on a weather cancellation.So while our event did not occur, our deals with the Howling Bay Kennel, the provider, and Tabitha, our contact, was an absolute pleasure. We hope to return to Alaska in the future and will make it a point to use them if at all possible.

Me and my gf had a great time exploring and learning more of our local Alaska community. I recommend for anyone looking to try an adventure!

On a cruise and had not scheduled anything for Haines. thought we should take a day off. Well, my wife wasn't feeling well and I decided at the last minute to book a tour with Tom. It was terrific. Tom mixes just the right blend of history/culture, nature, and photography. Although there's never any guarantees with wild animals, we saw black bear and brown bear (i.e. Grizzly with cubs), eagles, etc. Tom knows the area like the back of his hand and seems to know everyone in the community. Great eye for spotting birds, bears, etc. Also, I went to book the afternoon before - he fortunately had an opening and the communication through Cool Destinations was really great. Finally, check out his website and there's a link to "Smugmug" which is his photography site. His images are really beautiful. I would book him again if/when I return to Haines. (PS: if you're there on a cruise, the early evening sail out of Haines when the sun is setting is one of the most magical experiences you will ever experience - weather permitting)!!! (Note that all of the attached pictures except the Eagle were during the tour with Tom).

Tom is an amazing guide and so generous with his time and knowledge. Despite the fact we are not 'big' photographers and we only used our iPhones Tom helped us consider the composition of our images (which has since improved). Don't miss this trip. It was one of the two highlights of our holiday.

This class was so flippin cool. Not only did I learn new cool art skills, but I got to go home with proof of those skills. Highly, highly, highly recommend this class. Teachers were patient and encouraging throughout.

We had so much fun! We had 4 people in our group. Mike (the owner) met us at the Ward Cove cruise port to make sure our shuttle got us to the shop. My family of 4 had an awesome time picking out our creature and then completing the details! Luke was our instructor and he is a welding instructor at a local university. We were very thankful for having the option to mail them home (instead of taking them with us on 10 more days in Alaska), for drinks after the class and the shuttle back to the ship.

An amazing tour! Nathan was knowledgeable and funny while discussing the science behind the northern lights. Enjoyed the small tour group. We were all comfy, cozy and warm in his tent. We saw an amazing light show and have wonderful professional pictures to show off.

Nathan came get prepared, with us sitting in an ice fishing tent, pizza oven, hand and toe warmers, etc. he was very knowledgeable about the northern lights, conditions, how it happens, and more. He also took incredible pictures of us, both with light painting and with the Aurora borealis. We had a wonderful experience. I couldn't recommend this tour enough
