The tour and tasting was interesting and tasty. Since we arrived to Modena by train and took a taxi to the site, we arrived early. As we strolled through the grounds, we were delighted to be able to watch some harvesting of grapes. One of the staff explained the process, the different kinds of grapes and why they chose those particular grapes. This was an added, unexpected delight.

Amazing experience with the Malagoli family. I took a private 4-hour pasta making course and tour of their balsamic vinegar making process. I learned how to make tortellini by hand by an excellent teacher, and then we had a magnificent lunch from the homemade pasta. Their balsamic vinegar is the best I have ever tasted. Highly recommended!

Learn the tips that cause pasta to be perfect in a typical Italian family kitchen. Lara was delightful and explained everything clearly and followed through with the recipes. Our meal was Delicious! Lara is a gracious hostess. The home made pasta sauce she made it with her mother a week earlier was amazing!

Our guide was a lovely young lady named Elena (sp?) who shared her knowledge and passion for the Modena Region in general and parmesana reggiano & Balsamic vinegar specifically with us. The aromas and flavors we experienced on these tours were delightfully delicious and her passion and personality made the experience even better!

It gives you a little history of the town but a lot of info of the foods of the region. The guide was very knowledgeable

Had such a great time at Acetaia Marchi! My guide was fun, passionate, and clearly knew everything there was to know about balsamic vinegar. The tour through the aging rooms was fascinating. I had no idea how much time and tradition goes into every bottle. And then the tasting... wow. The balsamic itself is simply amazing, left with a few bottles and zero regrets. Highly recommend if you're anywhere near Modena!

Sara was amazing: hugely knowledgeable and a fantastic guide. We were taken through the various wines and balsamic vinegars in the context of the fascinating history of the property. A very worthwhile experience.

This guide was amazing! The experiences at all the different locations was great. I wish I had read the text beforehand as you needed to book and pay an admission fee for some of the places. The tour took me around 2 hours but that was without going into the different paid experiences. The area was pretty quiet with minimal crowds, which made it easy to look around freely! The tour is best people that want to learn more about Modena and want to see all the best places without just wondering around! My husband went to the Ferrari museum so this tour was ideal for me to go a look around and it’s the tour took help me!

This was a great way to visit some local producers of regional specialties. Alessandro was a great guide and very friendly. First we toured the Parmesano Reggio factory, saw it being made, and tasted 3 ages. Then we visited a small balsamic producer and the owner did a guided tasting with us. Finally we went to a small family vineyard and did a wine tasting with the owner. It was the perfect way to immerse yourself in the region. Alessandro gave just a great recommendation for lunch afterward too.

This was a fantastic experience in a little part of paradise! Claudio was generous with his hospitality and explanation of making and the tasting. Be sure to book a lunch to follow your tour as the food at La Vendetta is superb! The oils are great and taking a few back to New Zealand with me!

ParmaLook has a number of guides who are all assuredly skilled, but I feel glad to have gotten to spend the morning with Mattia, learning about and sampling the wonderful flavors of (authentic) Parmigiano Reggiano e Prosciutto di Parma and discussing travel, filmmaking, and all manner of other topics during our rides to and from the train station!
