George was our tour guide. George was wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable about Northern Lights and things around Fairbanks. There was an unexpected incident on our tour. George picked up a passenger in a wheelchair. George was unaware that there would be a passenger in a wheelchair. George was very accommodating to this passenger and family. This was extra work needed from George. This was not a fault of 1st Alaska Tours at all. It was a fault of the family for failing to notify the tour company that a wheelchair passenger would be transported. Kudos to George. The yurt was nice perfect to get out of the windy cold weather. Viewing was ok. I with recommend 1st Alaska Tours.

Book this tour! Learned a lot about Alaska, and how to better anticipate the Northern Lights. Our guide Greg was awesome and cooking the fish we caught along with seeing the lights makes this tour unique!

Beers and puppies jumped off the page at me but this experience was NO gimmick. These professionals will impress. This was Day 1 of our 2week vacation and nothing else we did or saw in AK or Canada has such a lasting impact. The story of Tekla's mom Susan and her legendary success at dogsledding is a historically significant. We learned so much about Alaskan sled dogs __ Not to be missed!

We joined the Aurora Ice Fishing tour at Chena Lake and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We fished comfortably inside a warm little cabin, and at the end our guide cooked the fresh-caught fish for us — it wasn’t big, but it tasted delicious! When we stepped outside, we were lucky enough to see the northern lights as well.Our tour guide was a young guy who shared lots of interesting local stories and made the whole trip fun and engaging. Highly recommend this experience if you’re visiting Fairbanks!

It was a great experience! Our tour guide, Tyson, kept us entertained and made the experience so fun! The meal was delicious. Will definitely come back again.

Great time if you love puppies! And who doesn’t love puppies? Liked seeing the kennels and learnt the difference between freight dogs and racing dogs.I thought the first beer was free, probably my error. But at this price, pony up a free brew to go with the puppies.Would def visit again. Free beer or not.

The experience was phenomenal. I would recommend it to anyone. The tour guide Paul was very knowledgeable and very thoughtful on time and kept us entertained for the entire trip. Joe was our cook. The food was sensational. Jerry was our dog guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the dogs. I felt safe as we were on our sled ride.

The tour, salmon dinner, and Elijah’s guiding were great. Elija told us stories based on local lore (including Big Foot, he neither accepts nor denies seeing it ;-) ) and his travels to Arctic circle and other places. He was our driver as well. Overall we had a great experience, it was a great tour. Thanks 1st Alaska Tours, Elijah, and Joe who prepared our dinner. I recommend this tour.

Great location, decent food choice. No luck seeing the Northern Lights this trip, maybe next time!..

I had a very good time ice fishing thanks to our guides. Aiden and Tyson were very patient with us when we struggled to get fish and were excellent cooks. Their cooking made the wait worth it

We had a great experience ice fishing with our guide Michael! The little wooden cabin was very cozy and we were able to see shooting stars outside. It was our first time fishing ever and we were able to catch dozens of fishes. The experience was made even more fun by our guide Michael’s warm and inviting personality and his fascinating stories. It was definitely a special memory for us and we loved hanging out with Michael!

Wow, what a fun trip. Highly recommend. We did the option of having a driver as I did not want to drive in snow and ice. Tyson was great! He picked us up on time and was great. He was telling us about local areas and points of interest. Tyson was also our fishing guide. Showed us the aurora when it was barely visible and then let us know to go out on the ice when the aurora was booming. We caught tons of fish! 30+ each. He cooked them up and we has a delicious dinner. This will be one all time favorite vacation memories.
