What To Expect
Step into a local Oaxacan home and discover the traditions behind one of Mexico's most iconic dishes : mole.
In this hands-on cooking class, you'll learn how to prepare authentic Oaxacan mole from scratch using traditional techniques and locally sourced ingredients. Roast chilies, toast spices and seeds, and discover the cultural significance behind each ingredient as you follow family recipes passed down through generations.
Along the way, you'll learn about Oaxacan culinary traditions, enjoy a home-cooked meal, and gain the skills to recreate these flavors in your own kitchen.
You'll also prepare a mezcal cocktail with local ingredients while learning about the role mezcal plays in Oaxacan culture. Non-alcoholic options are available.
This small-group experience offers a personal and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for food lovers, curious travelers, and anyone looking to connect with Oaxaca through its cuisine.
