What To Expect
Your starting point is Maximiliansplatz in the centre of Bamberg. Open the Explorial app, enter your 6-digit game code that you received by text and Travel Marketing chat message, select German, and tap Start.
The route takes you through Bamberg's preserved medieval centre. The Altes Rathaus — built on a man-made island in the Regnitz, with trompe-l'oeil figures on its facade — features early with a riddle that sends you looking at the painted details most visitors glance past. The Domplatz, the cathedral square dominated by the four-towered Bamberg Cathedral, brings an observation task that rewards close attention to the stonework. The Grüner Markt, the green market square at the commercial heart of Bamberg for centuries, features in a photo challenge that gets the group working together. The city is compact and pedestrianised; the pace is naturally comfortable.
