Simone is amazing! She curated the entire trip to ensure we enjoyed the tour. She was probably more worried about us having a good time than we were! We learned a lot about the culture of Freiburg. She took us to such unique spots and experienced a pretzel bun for the first time because of her. A great driver and always willing to make us laugh. We loved it so much that we think Freiburg was our favourite part of our entire vacation! Until next time - tschüss!

I loved this! For such a small city, I think it was good to do this tour self guided. I’m solo traveling and liked being able to go at my own pace and take pictures, etc. Not have to worry about being left behind by the group or not being able to hear the guide. It is a pretty busy, touristy city. So it was nice to be able to do it on my own and avoid the crowds. The area you walk is small and condensed though. And also pick a time of day that was convenient for me. I will be using this app in other cities!! Keep in mind you do need to download the VoiceMap app. But Cool Destinations sends you an email with all of the details!

The sights warn well selected, also the quality of the program with GPS signal was great. The translation into German was unfortunately not optimal. Note for the Freiburg Tour: due to core renovation of the university, the question about the university could not be answered.

This was an absolutely incredible experience! Simone is so knowledgeable about the Black Forest area and truly takes the time to figure out an itinerary that best suits you! I am so horrible at responding to emails in a timely manner, but Simone was so patient throughout all of our conversations back and forth and was so quick to respond to all of my inquiries. My husband and I love to explore new areas and especially enjoy anything that has to do with adventure, but we didn't want to spend an entire day on just one hike. We were only going to spend two days in the Baden region of Germany, (I know, this is absolutely not enough time) so we wanted to find someone who could guide us in a way that allowed us to see the most beauty possible in Schwarzwald. We told Simone that we would be interested in short hikes, adventure activities, beautiful landscapes, and region-specific food items. This experience far exceeded my expectations! We learned so much about specific aspects of Baden culture, had some delicious Ham sandwiches and cake, admired some Cuckoo clocks (I wasn't able to purchase one of my own - but maybe one day!), walked across a long cable bridge and hiked down past a beautiful waterfall, watched the German long jump ski team practice, and sped down the Hasenhorn mountain coaster! We joked throughout the day about the weather, but really could not get over the fact that this "rainy" day turned around for us at every turn and the sun shone whenever we were ready to start the next adventure. Simone is so personable and entertaining, which truly made the day extra special. Besides catering the entire day towards our desires and wishes, she made us laugh and feel like we have been friends for years. Even though I only know about my specific trip and cannot speak to any other tour options offered through Simone's website, I heard so much about how carefully and thoughtfully Simone runs her company, that I do feel like there is an option for everyone - you can't go wrong! I could not recommend booking a tour with Simone more highly! I hope to be able to tour with her again one day!

From making our hotel reservations, setting up a private walking tour of Freiburg (Barbel is a terrific and very knowledgeable guide), a full day private tour of the Black Forest by Simone herself, and setting up car transportation for us to Basel, Simone is simply phenomenal and absolutely wants her clients to have the best experience possible! Simone, many thanks for sharing your love of the area, showing us how the locals "live", the great conversations, and your patience (especially in our indecision on which cuckoo clock to buy!). If you are wondering if you should splurge on this tour, the answer is absolutely YES! After a month-long European vacation filled with dozens of tours, every member of our family agrees that our day with Black Forest Tours was far and away our favorite. Why? Because this company has something that we have never seen anywhere else. They LOVE this area, they are extremely knowledgeable, and they truly CARE deeply about creating a unique experience that you will never forget. We were treated like family from the start. This might sound overstated, but it's not. Days before the tour, we received a survey asking about our interests. Simone responded with ideas based on our answers and curated the perfect day for us. We went hiking, saw waterfalls, went on an amazingly terrifying bridge, rode the best toboggan coaster, and sampled the most amazing foods, all while our guide was getting to know each member of our family. The experience was one that immediately became one of our greatest life memories. What was really shocking was that, after reading through other reviews, I realized that our experience was so different from everyone else's and yet they all loved it. This company truly listens to what you want and knows enough about the area to focus on the parts that you might enjoy most (although I do not think you can go wrong there!). In a world where people seem to be going through the motions and looking for the next instagram photo-op, this was a truly authentic experience with people who are passionate about showing you the best of this incredible area. In a perfect world, this is what all tours would be like. We can't wait to go back!

Very nice tour and very informative. You can also combine the tour with various stops. However, you should plan more time.

Rudolph was an excellent guide with plenty of interesting information. He was very friendly and pointed out things that we would have not otherwise discovered.

Despite having lived in the freiburg area for 25 years this is the first walking tour we have done! We have learnt a lot more about the city. The app took into areas we have not been before but will visit again.
