Great experience, our guides were amazing! We were a group of "older women" ages 55-76 with most of us having little experience. The guides were kind, so helpful and just fun to be with. Many of us caught fish! The fishing cabins are warm and clean with hot beverages available and they were able to accommodate 19 of us easliy. The lunch tasted great especially after being out on the ice. Pick up and drop off was smooth and the company was easy to communicate with. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Our Judo Club did a snowmobile and Ice fishing event with Destination NWT. The attention to detail on the snowmobile operation and safety was great! My youngest son had previously been terrified of riding on a snowmobile and he was begging to rip around the lake by the end of the day! My oldest, who had to be dragged out there, had the time of his lefe driving his own snowmobile. The beautiful ice fishing shacks were ready for fishing and nice and warm upon our arrival. We caught a really nice size white fish. This was a great team bonding experience. Thank you so much Destination NWT for the wonderful day and friendly service!

It was everything and...
It was everything and anything we expected! The guide was very responsive. They started slightly later but were immediately available on the phone so I wasn’t in the unknown. Once we got there, we were greeted by some of the house dogs, very friendly and cute! The company seems to take good care of the dogs and only lets them run twice and then changes the “crew” completely. Only 3 people per ride, so the others stayed in a warm winter tent and enjoyed a home made bread by the owner’s grandmother’s recipe. This family has been here forever and has a history deeply rooted in NWT. We mingled with other participants who told their stories and made some great recommendations about future attractions. Once it was our turn, we sat in the sleigh that had some blankets, and off we went! The owner followed on a snowmobile and pictured us from a distance. When we got back, we did some axe throwing, and I now know I suck at it :))) I highly recommend these guys to everyone!

Our 4 night/ 5 day Arctic Tour was excellent. We were met at the airport and given all sorts of useful information by David. 3/4 nights we had beautiful Aurora views! All the Guides were excellent and very helpful. They work very hard at pleasing everyone. Our day tour with Hazey (sp.?) was great as was the Dog Sledding. The only part we did not enjoy was the trip to the Aboriginal Camp. To start with it was way too long - we basically sat around for 4+ hours in a not particularly clean cabin! Most of the younger people there sat around and played on their phones or fell asleep! Really not all that interesting and not for us. Luckily there was beautiful Lights that night.But every other Tour was handled very well. Highly recommend. Beautiful part of Canada.🇨🇦

Had a wonderful day dogsledding in Yellowknife. Kelly picked us up from our hotel and took us to the venue. She was very friendly and welcomed our questions. Went for a dog sled ride that was so much fun and then enjoyed hot chocolate with her homemade Bannick. Beautiful and interesting way to spend the afternoon.

After carefully searching for tours to fit my Canada itinerary September /October 2025, I selected Arctic Tours Canada. It was easy to communicate with any questions I had and Rebecca replied promptly. Payment was in easy instalments. Unfortunately the weather did not co-operate but I did get one night out of the four, when the Aurora was on display. My accommodation was comfortable and spacious and about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. The guides David and Inga were so friendly and full of enthusiasm. Arctic Tours made being an elderly solo traveller easy for my stay. My visit to Yellowknife is one I will fondly remember.

A great experience of the Arctic lifestyle!
We were picked up by our eventual instructor, Phil, from our hotels, and we were dropped off at a cabin in Old Town to sign waivers. We were then let outside to give a demo on how the snowmobile works, and some safety procedures. He had to explain it since we wouldn't hear when we are in our helmets. Afterwards, we were given our helmets and he gave assistance to secure them. He allowed us to keep our belongings in the cabin. He locks them up during the tour.We were then assigned our snowmobiles and he tied our safety harnesses in. Once engines were started, we descended into Great Slave Lake and did some basic curves and one circle to familiarize ourselves with the snowmobile operation. Afterwards, it was full speed ahead. We crossed the ice road as well on our way to a small lake at the end. Along the way, we witnessed dog sledding, ice fishing shacks, and hikers with their dogs. Also, there are some stops for photo ops. Phil took pictures for us.We then went on land and it was pretty bumpy like a BMX track. At the end of it was a lake and we were given 10 minutes of free time to circle around the lake full speed. It honestly felt more than 10 minutes because I enjoyed it so much!At the end, we had to return our harnesses and our helmets and we were dropped off back to our hotel or a destination of our choice. Yeah, all in all, it was great! Very well recommended!

The experience was great! Sai was amazing and super friendly. Unfortunately, none of us caught a fish but it was a great time regardless. Sai cooked some Inconnu for us and it was delicious. I recommend for something new to do, we’d never done it before and it was really nice.
