This was the highlight of our trip to the Lakes District and exceeded all of our expectations. We were collected from the Langdale Chase hotel by our two fabulous ladies Gillian and Sandra who were the Dream Team! From beginning to end, this was a very enjoyable tour and certainly worth every cent. The ladies were extremely attentive, knowledgeable, engaging and fun with expert driving abilities along the way. I cannot believe how beautiful this place actually is, photos just don't do it justice. Everywhere we went we saw spectacular scenery with plenty of stops to soak up the atmosphere. We went on a boat down Ulswater which was so serene and relaxing. The weather was sunny and rain but, as Gillian said, the change made everything feel more atmospheric, drawing us into nature and the real lake district experience. Thank you English Lakes Tours (Phil you were tremendous in helping us chose a hotel), and of course, the two lovely ladies we spent the day with. Would thoroughly recommend this company and the tour.

He was flexible and very thoughtful to make sure we were confident that we would make our train even though it required him to modify the itinerary a bit. This audio tour was a great way to find out about important attractions and recreational opportunities in England’s Lakes District. The suggestions of where to park close to the specific venues was helpful. You still need to use your phone’s GPS to find things.We only completed a portion of the tour with the time available. Finding parking at the popular attractions was difficult. We liked the flexibility to pick and choose which attractions to visit. The commentary was helpful and informative to learn more about the places you are visiting.

We were a group of 4 (my 2 daughters - ages 3 and 11, and my mum who has mobility issues) and we booked a 6 hour private tour with David, he was simply fantastic!He was so kind and considerate, and took such wonderful care of my mum. He had vast knowledge of the Lake District and was very experienced in making on the spot changes to our tour to accommodate all our needs and requests.He showed us the most beautiful side of the Lake District and there wasn’t a dull moment with him. He truly made our tour such a memorable one. Will definitely be returning soon and will reach out to him again. Can’t wait to hear more from him about this lovely place.

A wonderful half day in the Lake District with Brook Tours!
This was our first time to the Lake District, so we wanted a good overview of the sites and history of the area. David has over 27 years of personal, lived experience with the place he calls home. He put together the perfect itinerary, he was able to navigate around the traffic of high season. He showed us some very interesting places and shared facts about each spot. Best of all, he took us to sites that captured the best of this beautiful region. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to learn and explore the Lake District with David’s expertise!

We had a brilliant full day tour of the Lakes with guide Gillian and driver/guide Sandra. We saw places in the Lakes that we would not have got to under our own steam. The tour was well paced, the guides very knowledgeable, and the van very comfortable. Easy pickup from the Ambleside library. The scenery was "food for the soul". Well worth the price for the tour. We spent our lunch break in Keswick visiting the Pencil Museum - worth the visit. Ample stops for photos and bio breaks (the size of the Honister Slate Mine ladies toilet is about equivalent to a studio apartment in New York! Sandra is an excellent driver. How she's able to navigate the narrow roads, reverse around steep hills and bends is impressive. Highly recommend this tour for visitors both new to the Lake District and returning.

David was knowledgeable and friendly, and he put me at ease from the moment I entered his spacious, clean and comfortable car. There were a number of different options available for doing the Beatrix Potter tour, Dave offers a private tour. There was no minimum number requirement for booking. Ok; it may have cost me more - but, I got to see what I was interested in. He stopped if I requested a photo stop. I didn't have to hang about waiting for my fellow travellers to idle back to the car. At the various locations we visited; he pointed out things of interest; he also had a collection of photos that he could show comparisons from previous times (I found this most interesting and helpful). It added another dimencion to the tour. David had an easy manner and I felt really relaxed in his company. I would 100% recommend David. He's been taking ppl around this area for over 20 years. He puts life into what came before. The scenery is spectacular. Well worth investing your time and ££ on his tour. Thanks David. It was a fantastic day.

An easy, luxurious trip from London
It was a really easy trip from London. We spoke to Phil at English Lakes Tours and he explained how simple it was to get the train from Euston up to the Lakes District. We were met straight off the train by Tim, our excellent host for the day. the vehicle felt spacious and luxurious with confortable seats, lots of leg room and a very efficient independant air-con. The tour was well planned with fascinating insights that we could only have got from an expert who is passionate about the area and Beatrix herself. I'm so glad that we took the train and didn't have to drive on the left down those really narrow raods and Tim did it all like a true local, smooth and safe! Beatrix Potter's house was awesome and we got to see a castle and spectacular scenery along the way. Even the little extras that we weren't expecting were thoughtful and made us feel very special. Our thanks to Phil and Tim for making this the highlight of our visit to the UK so far. We would recommend it to our friends and family without any hesitation.
