The best way to enjoy Umbria
Our experience was excellent. Our driver/guide, Matteo arrived precisely on time in a beautifully appointed car. Along the way Matteo suggested a stop at the Basilica, Saint Mary of the Angels, which was an incredible stop making the trip even more worthwhile. We strolled Assisi relaxed and un-pressured by time constraints. Our second stop was Orvieto a charming uncrowded hilltop village with spectacular views and history. I would gladly book this trip again and request the same driver/guide. We enjoyed great conversation along the way with incredible cultural insight

The attractions are wonderful. The guide was very professional and knowledge. We are very please with his services. The only thing we hope Cool Destinations can be improved is the scheduling of the pickup time. The Cool Destinations never told us the scheduled pickup time. The guide tried to contact us via phone call and text a couple days prior to the tour date. Since we were on board already, we did not see the VM and text message until the day before. When I tried to call, the only response I got was in Italian which I could NOT understand. The Cool Destinations confirmation info told me that they willl pick us us at the port and never tell us if it is a bus, van or private car. The previous experiences I had with Cool Destinations were using bus. Therefore we did not know that we need to contact anyone prior to arrange pickup time ourselves. Hope Cool Destinations can improve on the communication with their customers.

Perfect day!
My husband and I toured late September of this year. We were picked up with a smile by Maurizio at our accomodations promptly at 9am. He was so friendly and personable! I kept wanting to call him Sly(he looks just like Sylvester Stallone). Having grown up in the region, he had great knowledge of the Assisi area. He took us to two wineries and one olive oil/winery place(three different stops). It was harvest time, so, we were able to walk out in the vineyards and visit with the employees as they were harvesting, by hand I might add. It was GREAT!! Everyone we met was so accomodating and friendly. We had absolutely no problems communicating with anyone. All spoke english very well. After all of the tours, most of which were just us or maybe another couple, we visited Bevagna, and Montefalco. We could not have asked for a better day in Umbria, great weather, great guide, great wine, great olive oil!!

This was an absolutely wonderful time! The ride was beautiful, the car was air-conditioned and had bottled water and the driver was so nice. He made us reservations in the second town for lunch and walked us through a lot of the churches we were going to see before we got there. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. We very much recommend this to other people.

Our entire day with Emanuella was absolute perfection. She delighted our group with her kindness and vast knowledge of local history. We couldn’t have asked for a more delicious lunch at her favorite restaurant and the cave tours were a wonderful bonus. The walk to Civita di Bagnoregio was like stepping into a fairy tale. This was one of my very favorite days I highly recommend you book this Orvieto tour.

THE MOST AMAZING DAY OF OUR TRIP!!!!! I can't thank David (Umbria Con Me) enough for his personal care and attention in booking this trip for our 2 couples while we were in Orvieto. We knew we had a full day adventure planned, yet were over the moon happy with ever part of the plan for the day. Our guide, Elena, was outstanding. She met us at our property in Orvieto and our historical journey began. We walked the streets of Orvieto as we learned about the history . . . .the amazing Duomo, the underground caves, amongst the sites prior to our arrival at Ristorante Il Labirinto where we have the most delicious lunch! The cool part of our lunch venue was that they also had access to the underground tunnels and caverns. So another short tour of these and then we were off to meet our driver who took us to Civita di Bagnoregio. OUTSTANDING!!! The 'dying city' that sits atop of a hilltop is only accessible by walking across a lengthy bridge, yet is is well worth the walk! After finishing our tour there we returned to our rental in Orvieto. Elena, you are lovely, so kind, with an immense amount of knowledge that you openly shared with us on this tour. Thank you to David and Elena for making this day so spectacular, and one of our fondest memories of our time in Italy and Orvieto!!! This tour is worth every penny and I strongly encourage anyone with the opportunity to connect with Umbria Con Me (David) to book while in the region.
