Dominic was our tour guide from the hotel to the Caroni. He was on time, personable and knowledgeable- pleasant company.It was marvelous to see the scarlet ibis and flamingos + a couple of snakes sleeping in trees! Well worth your time!

Pick up and drop to Caroni sanctuary was prompt and on time. Driver was friendly and helpful checking us into the tour and secured a great tour guide for the sanctuary. Breathtaking views can be seen throughout the tour. We encountered a handful of birds while cruising but once stationed for about 20 mins we were able to enjoy seeing hundreds of birds at sunset.

My wife and I arrived in Trinidad very late on the night of March 20 and had arranged with Island Experiences to be picked up at our airport hotel at 08:15 for a full morning tour of Port of Spain and Fort George. On returning from Tobago on March 26, we were met at the airport by Khaleel and spent the entire day seeing the Hindu Temples, Pitch Lake and doing a boat tour of the Caroni bird sanctuary. We were returned to the airport by Khaleel for our late flight departure back to Houston. We were pleased with the efficient scheduling by Dominique to maximize use of our time in Trinidad coming and going from Tobago. Both of our driver/guides, Zena and Khaleel did an nice job of showing us as much of the Island as possible with the time we had. Based upon our excellent experience with Island Experiences we would certainly recommend them and use them again.

Asher was my driver and he was Amazing!! He greeted us with such an excellent attitude. We had a very pleasant ride. He pointed out known landmarks that was in route to our hotel. And Suggested some places we should try while there visiting. This was a great choice for airport transportation!

Best natural sight I’ve seen! The scarlet ibis is the most beautiful bird! We saw them in the trees and flying and then nesting.

Booked the sunset tour which lasted 2 ½ hours. Large boat with bench seats carry around 40 people with a guide who is very knowledgeable about the swamp and all its inhabitants. We saw blue herons, large tree snakes, cayman, flamingos and the beautiful scarlet ibis. It’s a slow paced wonderful trip, spoiled only by inconsiderate passengers and those thinking it would be a good idea to bring along a small child for a long trip where they cannot be entertained by anything other than nature. Highly recommended trip, but be aware that your fellow passengers will influence the enjoyment of your trip.

If you like birds like the scarlet ibis, flamingos and the like you will really appreciate this tour. You will also enjoy the natural scenery it was really breathtaking and calming especially when the sun started to set. The only thing was that the return to base was a bit too soon to enjoy the full experience of the birds returning to roost.
