Top Seward Lunch Cruises

After seeing various youtube videos recommending this particular tour, my husband and I booked the 8.5 hour cruise since it guaranteed whale viewing and glaciers.This is a truly a bucket list experience. We stayed at the Seward 360 hotel that they operate out of so check in was a breeze, they let you know what animals were sighted on the previous tours and give you a map with a guide of all of the animals that you can spot. They recommend taking dramamine for the rough waters, we got EXTREMELY lucky with the waves that were practically nonexistent that day. I was a little apprehensive about spending so many hours on a boat if we were be bored, I was also pregnant so worried about the waves but omg what an experience.We spotted every animal on the guide. There was never a dull moment and we would pull over for whales, eagles, seals, puffins, otters, and glaciers. Our captain John was incredible and Rowan & Sam offered to take pictures and point out other animals. When we first left everyone was in seats in the top deck but once the boat was moving people spread out some went to sit downstairs in the cafe and then there was plenty of viewing space and opportunity to see everything. It never felt crowded or rushed to see anything. If they would spot a whale or animal the boat would stop, announce where it was, and wait patiently so everyone could see and watch as the animal made its way around. Seeing a whale so close in real life was breathtaking!!! We brought binoculars as well which was helpful especially to see the seals on the ice all around the glaciers (an unreal view they were EVERYWHERE).The lunch is a sandwich chips and a soda, they also have coffee and tea onboard and some drinks that they make with ice straight from the glacier! We had a brownie on the way back which was a nice touch.The experience was 10/10, do not hesitate to spend 8 and a half hours with these experts on a boat. It was worth every single minute for the unforgettable experience of spending a day in this unique landscape and seeing these animals in real life. Get on the "Orca Song" you won't regret it!!!

It was great. Close to the face of a glacier, two bears, two goats, two bald eagles, lots of rock formations, jellyfish, porpoises.Not for people with motion sickness problems.

Tour was very worthwhile. Meal served for lunch was very tatsy. Weather sucked, fog and rain. However they still made the tour worthwhile. Since weather was bad, we they took us to two Galciers! Would highly recommend this tour. They even took my group back to the resurrection campground via their shuttle is primarily used for their facility to their parking lot, due to the rain.

This trip was awesome. We had a beautiful day, and saw tons of wildlife and glaciers. Lunch was an option between chicken and veggie burritos. Just a note that parking is at a different lot about a 2-3 minute drive away and they provide a shuttle back. It's all good, but don't show up right before boarding like we did :)

This was a long day! Thankfully the seas were calm on our cruise day. All 4 of us took some Dramamine though just in case. The cruise took us to lots of very interesting spots and we saw a lot of sea life. This boat was smaller than one we took on an earlier cruise in our vacation so this one could navigate into some tighter spots and could move faster. When our captain learned on a whale sighting they were able to get us to the spot quickly. It was a fun day.

Amazing! We were so lucky to see the glacier calving a lot sending small tsunami’s toward our boat. And we saw sea lions, killer whales, Mexican sailboat, otters, porpoises. We had an all women crew and loved it. The food was delicious. I have all ready recommended to friends.

The day was beautiful in Seward! Captain Emma and the crew did a fantastic job! We were on the Captain’s Choice cruise & Captain Emma took us to some great places to see wildlife. We saw Habor seals, sea lions, eagles, mountain goats, puffins, starfish, jellyfish, porpoises, glaciers calving @ lots of other beautiful scenery! The lunch was tasty & the warm cookie on the back was yummy. We would definitely like to take this tour again, but next time earlier in the season with the hope of seeing whales! I am so happy I booked this boat tour with Kenai Fjords! After our 7 day cruise from Vancouver to Seward, where I spotted nothing from the ship (others saw whales but I didn't), I was bummed until I went on this boat tour. Almost immediately, we spotted orcas! Then 2 different humpback whales (including a fluke), puffins, sea otters, sea lions, a fast moving porpoise and the piece de resistance... A huge glacier! We got so close! The crew fished a piece of glacier ice out of the water and we got to hold it. I even had a glacier ice water! The clearest ice you've ever seen. The boat captain and crew members were so attentive, informative, and fun. Even though my kid got sick on the boat, the majority of people were fine and I didn't think the boat rocked too much. Every time we stopped, our captain made sure to stay for awhile and maneuver the boat for the best viewing of the wildlife. I took 400+ photos. This was the highlight of my 12 day trip to Alaska. The boat also has a great burrito, chips, and salsa for lunch, plenty of snacks/drinks for purchase and some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to end the day. They also held our luggage in their secured room in their office while we were in the tour. They made everything very easy from start to finish.

Excellent, excellent, excellent tour, captain was very good on history and educating us on the area and sea life and glaciers. The glacier was breath taking so beautiful and blue. Waterfalls were beautiful and sea life was so cool to see in the wild. We saw whales, sea lions, otters, puffins, seals, eagles, lots of birds and some jelly fish. Amazing day. Great tour.

This has to be the best tour I've ever gotten to experience yet! Worth every cent. The unforgettable scenery views and wildlife getting to experience with my loved ones! Boat was big comfortable and felt safe always. Crew was professional and king and our captain was incredible! 10/10 booking!!!

fantastic continuous views of the shoreline and islands throughout the trip. Captain would find and stay with whales for great viewing. multiple sea lion and seals along the way. Most important is the destination , the northwestern glacier, just amazing and up close and personal.

This excursion was everything I had hoped - beautiful weather, loads of Alaskan ocean wildlife, and very knowledgeable crew. We even got to see some calving from the Holgate Glacier. In addition, we had some special circumstances with our traveling companions and the company was very accommodating.

Captain John, and crew were amazing! Saw 6 or so orca whales!!! Which was amazing, glacier's birds and even a mountain goat!!! It was a EPIC day

Absolutely excellent experience all around! The Captain's Choice is the way to go - Captain Emma is phenomenal, she navigates the boat AND gives the narration. She is highly skilled and very knowledgeable. She communicated with whale boats and got us in position to see two orcas. She knew the secret spots where sea lions would be and didn't waste time at a popular puffin spot when she could tell none were there, rather she went elsewhere and maneuvered us close to a rock formation where there were dozens of puffins. All together we saw harbor seals, Stellar sea lions, puffins, an otter eating an octopus, oystercatchers, and orcas. We felt we were in very capable hands with Captain Emma. Due to the calm waters that day, she was able to take us very close to Aialik Glacier where we saw "calving" and she made the call to take us close to Bear Glacier too. The staff are all very friendly, fun, and kind. We were also surprised by how delicious the on-board lunch was too.Be sure to arrive early, they queue up on the dock almost an hour beforehand. Sit outside on the stern for the best overall views, especially if you are a photographer. Well worth the ticket price, highly recommend. This was our 50th National Park and now my favorite, mostly because of the quality of this tour. Thank you to the whole team and especially to Captain Emma for making it an epic trip!

We had the most amazing experience on the Captain’s Choice tour. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Captain Emma and the crew were fantastic. She shared so much information and made sure we had plenty of time to view the glaciers and the wildlife. We hit the wildlife jackpot seeing bald eagles, puffins, otters, Dall’s porpoise, seals, Stellar sea lions and a brief glimpse of a humpback whale. On the way back to the Seward we came across a pod of killer whales. In order to get back at 4:00 we would have had to pass them by, but the crew went around and asked everyone if they needed to be back right at 4:00. Since no one did, Captain Emma guided us as close as possible to get a fantastic view of the orcas and one even breached near us! I would not have wanted to miss that experience! Aside from the wildlife, the glacier viewing was incredible, lunch was very good and there were plenty of drinks and snacks in the galley. This was by far my favorite experience of everything we did while in Alaska!!
