Seward 2026 Calendar of Events

Loved the scenery. Boat was full but found a good window to see the wildlife. Didn’t get to see all of the wildlife we had hoped but that’s the nature of a cruise like this. Outdoor seating would have been helpful for a full boat like this, the only option was to stand.

The tour was colossal! We saw all kinds of wildlife, the largest glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park and had the best crew! Captain was so informative and personable as were all crew members. Would take this cruise again in a minute.

If you need transportation from Seward to Anchorage this is a great option all in 2.5 hours. Pro Tip: If you find yourself waiting for hours after your cruise ends and your bus tour begins, you can wait inside the Terminal with your luggage. About 1 hour before the bus tour, Ginny, our wonderful driver, found us waiting & provided instructions. She did this with all parties waiting there. Ginny was organized and shared relevant fun facts all along our journey. She is a safe driver, with great jokes!

This was a long day! Thankfully the seas were calm on our cruise day. All 4 of us took some Dramamine though just in case. The cruise took us to lots of very interesting spots and we saw a lot of sea life. This boat was smaller than one we took on an earlier cruise in our vacation so this one could navigate into some tighter spots and could move faster. When our captain learned on a whale sighting they were able to get us to the spot quickly. It was a fun day.

Booked the Kenai Fjords Glacier & Wildlife afternoon cruise with Major Marine Tours through Cool Destinations, and it ended up being an absolute highlight of the trip.Logistics coming off the cruise ship terminal were completely seamless. Having the complimentary shuttle right outside made the transfer to the Harbor 360 Hotel lobby effortless, and being able to store our luggage securely at their desk for free during the tour took all the usual travel friction out of the equation.The tour itself blew our expectations out of the water. We ran into an entire family pod of over 20 orca whales, which was an unbelievable sight, along with sea lions, sea otters, and bald eagles. Our captain did a phenomenal job spotting and tracking wildlife across the water, maneuvered us safely right up close to the face of the glacier, and even served up glacier margaritas on board. The narration over the PA was clear, calm, easy to follow, and packed with interesting context without feeling rehearsed or intrusive.Comfortable, well-maintained boat, exceptional crew, and zero logistical stress. If you are stopping through Seward, this is the tour to book.

This worked perfectly for our trip from Anchorage to Seward. Of course, do your own research as well. I will definitely consider this on any of our scenic road trips now.

Amazing! We were so lucky to see the glacier calving a lot sending small tsunami’s toward our boat. And we saw sea lions, killer whales, Mexican sailboat, otters, porpoises. We had an all women crew and loved it. The food was delicious. I have all ready recommended to friends.

The trip and guides were excellent. I unfortunately got very sea sick despite taking Dramamine when first getting on the boat “just to be safe”. I highly recommend taking Dramamine a few hours prior to the cruise so it has time to work or even getting a prescription/ OTC scopolamine patch (amazing anti nausea for sea sickness) I didn’t expect to get sea sick so I wasn’t as prepared as I should have been but despite the sea sickness it was still an absolutely incredible experience and would still do it again, just a bit more prepared next time!! We saw all kinds of wildlife and glaciers, absolutely once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend if you are considering.

The day was beautiful in Seward! Captain Emma and the crew did a fantastic job! We were on the Captain’s Choice cruise & Captain Emma took us to some great places to see wildlife. We saw Habor seals, sea lions, eagles, mountain goats, puffins, starfish, jellyfish, porpoises, glaciers calving @ lots of other beautiful scenery! The lunch was tasty & the warm cookie on the back was yummy. We would definitely like to take this tour again, but next time earlier in the season with the hope of seeing whales! Adam was a great driver and tour guide. Was more than willing to allow us all the time we wanted at each planned stop. Only six of us in total. Sure beats the cruise line transportation crowds.

We had a very peaceful kayak on the lake. Enjoyed listening to our knowledgeable guide, Rob, and glad they kept it to a very small group.

I booked this tour because I had a late flight out of Anchorage and wanted to see more wildlife and glaciers. It did not disappoint. We made several stops a scenic sites for pics and saw several glaciers and wildlife. If you're looking for a way to fill your day from Seward to Anchorage this is a nice option.

We went in shoulder season at the beginning of September, but had a very lovely day for a hike. Tour offered a convenient pickup and drop off from our hotel in Seward. Hike itself was suitable for all ages and not too long or difficult. Our tour guide Deb was phenomenal. She was extremely knowledgeable of the area and of glaciers in general from her many years living and working in the region. She was patient and very supportive of my aging parents who had a lovely time as well. Thanks so much Deb!
