This was a wonderful tour. Ben was our guide and he was fantastic. He made the history entertaining and informative. We got so much more out of the experience than if we’d just gone to the castle on our own. We did the 10 AM tour, then watched the 1:00 cannon firing and explored the museums.

Great introduction to Edinburgh
My husband and I are frequent travelers and have had many walking tours but this was probably the best. Our afternoon with Douglas was a great introduction to Edinburgh and its history. This proud Scotsman’s knowledge was astounding and while we won’t remember everything he told us we will remember him and his enthusiasm. I highly recommend this tour as the first thing you book for your visit in Edinburgh.

Informative and enjoyable tour of Edinburgh's Old Town
We were a particularly small group, so there were no problems keeping up or having the attention of the guide. Shauna ( ? ) was a transplanted American, but her knowledge of Scottish, and particularly Edinburgh, history was excellent, and though I had already been in the city a week I learned a lot. Especially interesting was the visit to Greyfriars Kirkyard, where there were some spooky tales to be told and some amazing statistics on the sheer numbers buried there. Altogether well worth while in gaining a detailed insight into Edinburgh's past.
