Top Scotland Architecture Tours

Francesca was absolutely amazing! Her knowledge of Edinburgh and the history behind all the monarchs was impressive. She was also really good at telling the story about how everything connects together.

Stewart met us at the cruise port and took us on a wonderful adventure. He was a great driver, personable and taught us about so much of what we saw. The Falkirk Wheel is such an engineering marvel, the ride relaxing yet exciting and the Kelpies were awesome! Beautiful park along the canal. We saw both visitor centers and had lunch at the Kelpies.

FANTASTIC!!! Isabella was polite, friendly, professional, informative & accommodating. A GREAT experience.

What a fabulous day we had! Stewart was excellent from booking right through to dropping us back to our ship. He was friendly, informative and we had a wonderful experience. The Kelpies are magnificent and the Falkirk Wheel is just incredible.

Our guide Andy met us as we exited the cruise ship tender dock area. His van was comfortable and clean. Andy took us to the best Outlander film sites and this tour was excellent especially since we didn't have to ride in a 40 passenger bus. I would highly recommend this tour experience.

Our guide Juan José explained very well everything about the Castle and also some things about the city.

Super informative and Paul did a great job! It was the perfect amount of time and the money was well spent.

This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals I’ve been in the architecture and intricacies are amazing. You can tell that so much pride and passion was put into making this cathedral a place of beauty. You could spend hours just looking for all the Fire details of the work that went into making this place such a work of art. From the stained glass windows to the angel door knobs. It’s located right on the Royal Mile not too far from the castle. Entry is free. They do ask for a small donation but when you considor the beauty and history of this cathedral, the nominal donation as well worth preserving such a work of art.

An experience with our good friends Rosy and Juan Cabrera we spent an unforgettable day with visit and great explanation of Juan about the vaulted nave of the Cathedral of Sant Giles of Edinburgh 🏴🏴 As well as the tour of the Thistle Chapel 🕍 built under the order of the Knights of Thistle 🛡️🗡️ Spectacular and certainly culminating in the Dinner 🍽️ Le Dome 👌🏽Mima and Eduardo Ochoa 29 September 2025 Morelia, Mexico 🇲🇽

We are both big fans of the show and it was amazing to see the sets come to life. Highlight was Midhope Tower - looks exactly like it does on television!Callum was a fantastic guide and you could see his passion for Scotland. Thank you again!

A very relaxed and informative tour of the Old town. Plenty of interesting facts about the development of the city. You can stroll around, along at your own pace and pause if you need more time or want to pop into a shop or cafe/bar. We completed it in about 2hours, but that was at a more leisurely pace. Definitely recommend.

Went on this tour and the tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable, took their time and provided great insight. Would highly recommend!

Me and family loved the architectural audio tour in Edinburgh Old Town. At the same time, we had all the freedom to stop for photos, food, and shopping. The narration is very clear, lively and informative. Both architects and non architects in the family enjoyed this experience.Geolocation worked very well, and overall very easy to use this app.

Our family had an incredible private tour of Edinburgh the Castle during our trip to Europe. Our guide was knowledgeable and brought the city's history to life with. They did an awesome job of keeping our kids entertained, which made the experience enjoyable for all of us. We really recommend this tour to any family visiting Edinburgh!

8 May 2026 Review of Falkirk – visit to Keplie Horses and Wheel Two of us had an excellent day out from Glasgow to visit the Kelpie Horses in the Helix Park and then the Falkirk Wheel. We used public transport and it was straightforward. Taking the train from Glasgow Queen Street Station at around 8:15 it took about 40 minutes to arrive at Falkirk Grahamston station. We took a short walk of no more than 5 minutes from Grahams Rd to Park Street from where several bus routes stop at the Falkirk Stadium. The ride is about 10 minutes long. It’s then about a 15 minute walk through the Helix Park to see the Kelpie Horses. The walk is pleasant, flat and well signposted. There is an excellent café, toilets, gift shop and exhibition at The Keplies. The horses are stunning. Returning to Falkirk Stadium we boarded one of the many buses outside the stadium and returned to the town centre and made our way to the bus stops in Newmarket Street. We took the number 7 bus to the Falkirk Wheel. The journey takes around 25 minutes mainly through residential areas. The final stop is a few minutes walk to the Wheel (easy to spot behind the houses). The site is very impressive and we saw several wheel rotations, with boats using both the wheel and the lock out onto the main canal. There is an excellent restaurant and facilities around the basin. We didn’t take the boat ride we just enjoyed spectating. We then took the same bus back into town, a five minute walk took us back to Grahamston station, via the Costa Coffee in the retail park opposite. We arrived back at Glasgow Queen Street around 16:30. Tired but pleased we’d managed it all by public transport and it was much more straightforward than we thought. We had lots of help from friendly locals in Falkirk which was great. Useful to know: there are no time restrictions on using trains in Scotland – it’s the same price whenever you travel. There’s a Midland Bluebird DuoSaver bus ticket that covers buses to both attractions, valid for one day it cover the wider Falkirk area. Cost £12.50 (for 2 passengers). It’s about a 5 mile walk in each direction from Keplies to Wheel. Hope this helps, of course you can use taxis from the rank outside the station and the walking might be too much for less able visitors. I was very worried we wouldn’t be able to do everything in one day and it took a lot of research but it was surprisingly easy once we got started. Enjoy!

Our guide, Hugo was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. We enjoyed our time with him and all of the unique and insightful stories. He had the history of both both Edinburgh Castle, and the city. We would highly recommend this tour, it was a great and unique experience. I think Hugo could’ve gone to whatever level of detail and depth if we wanted at each spot, but there is just so much to see and learn about and he did an excellent job weaving in and out of history through his stories and narrative.Really can’t say enough about how good this experience was. Thank you Hugo!
