Top Puebla Hiking & Camping

I booked with another girl from my hostel and our day was amazing!! Mario was so kind and thoughtful. He was absolutely hilarious and enjoyed we hiked at a steady pace where we could both keep up. We took regular breaks to adjust to the altitude and were provided with equipments (including hiking pants, fleeces, gloves, poles, raincoats, helmets), food, snacks, water and electrolytes. Overall Mario was a fabulous guide and I would 100% recommend. It was a very quiet hike with only occasional other hikers. We got picked up around 5:30am and were back home around 5:30pm so be prepared for a long, tiring but amazing day!!

Mario was a wonderful guide up Malinche! We felt we were in very safe and capable hands as we ascended to high altitude. He made sure we took it easy and was clear that it was about the journey, not the destination. All necessary equipment and food was provided at no extra cost. A great experience and beautiful views!

Everything about this trip was perfect, from punctuality of the personalized pick-up, to the guide, the trip to and from the park, the destination, and the route. Took a spot on the available stage one hike, but agreed as a group to shift to level two with the additional 4km trek to the waterfall. Luis did an outstanding job as our guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating.

Our guide Luis was punctual, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helpful and went beyond to ensure we were all enjoying ourselves and getting the most out of the experience. We did a level 2 climb with very different fitness levels and we all managed it and had a fantastic experience thanks to Luis. We couldn’t recommend him enough! Thanks Luis!

Everything was great. The tour was fantastic. While we didn't make it to the summit, it was a great experience nonetheless. Preparation for the hike is essential.The guide was prepared, on time for the pick up and helped us through the roughest part of the trip without any problem.It is definitely a worthwhile experience.

It was an incredible experience. My driver and guide were excellent professionals. Most importantly, Aaron (my guide) transmitted calmness, patience and security. I felt safe every step of the way and took mini-lessons for my next adventure. Everything was taken care of, all I had to do was move my feet.

Not only is Danny a funny and great guide, but he also informs about the environment and regularly checks on the group’s health status. The hike is not very difficult, but challenging because of the meters you climb in this high altitude, therefore it was good to know him aside. Depending on the fitness of people the tour can stop at several levels and still provide a great view! If you manage to get to the summit you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view above Puebla and nearby vulcanoes. It was a bit cloudy on our day, so we couldn’t see that far - but still worth the tour!

We left Puebla at 6 am and began the trek at 7:38. It starts through beautiful pine forests and gets progressively tougher as the elevation increases. The toughest part for me was the big boulders then the going gets better just before the actual summit. I was expecting it to be much harder to breathe as we got closer to the top but that wasn’t the case. There was a lot of very happy people at the top. It was doable for a ‘late in the sixties ‘ couple in good physical condition. Our guide Aaron from Unlimited was fantastic! This was a big test for me as I am recovering from a lung condition. Unlimited was great in providing us with packs, poles, ( a must for this trek!) hats and gloves. I wore a T-shirt a long sleeve a windbreaker and light weight down jacket and needed them all at the top. There was a bit of ice in sections close to the top. We were provided lunch and tea. Waiting for us in the car was a cooler filled with cold drinks. That beer never tasted better!!! Do this hike but don’t expect it to be easy!

I had a FANTASTIC tour with Que Loco to Nevado de Toluca. The guide (Alan) was brilliant - as was all the organisation and wider support from staff at Que Loco. I hope to do more tours with them when I next return to Mexico and would recommend them very highy to anyone else.

Really easy to plan things with Que Loco Tours, who coordinated with excellent guides for our trip. We were able to personalize our experience and they were pretty flexible about it. We were lucky to go there during the week so there wasn't a lot of people in the mountain, making it a nicer experience. Pedro and Bryan guided and assisted us in an assertive and knowledgeable manner throughout the whole trip. I can't imagine better guides for this adventure. They were always on top of our condition, safety and making sure we were having a good time. We had a successful climb and a safe descent all the way back to the city. I recommend them without reserves. /Bastante fácil planificar todo con Qué Loco Tours, quienes coordinaron con excelentes guías nuestro viaje. Nosotros personalizamos la experiencia y hubo bastante flexibilidad para ello. Tuvimos suerte de ir en días de semana en que había poca gente en la montaña, lo que hizo más agradable la experiencia. Pedro y Bryan nos guiaron y asistieron de manera acertada y conocedora durante todo el viaje. No imagino mejores guías para esta aventura. Siempre entuvieron pendientes de nuestra condición, seguridad y de que la estuviéramos pasando bien. Tuvimos un ascenso exitoso y un retorno a salvo a la ciudad. Los recomiendo sin duda alguna.

We were lucky to find snow. The landscape was beautiful, they explained the history, flora and fauna data to us, Luis was very friendly at all times, we went with German friends and he explained everything in English very well.

The tour was awesome, Mario is an excellent guide and very patient, they bring you food, water, everything you need to make the experience more pleasant and comfortable… highly recommended, you will not regret it

Unbelievable day hike. Carlos is the best guide. He was super fun but also very thoughtful and safety conscious. Great views of the volcano and beautiful scenery the whole way. Overall a great experience and well worth the price.
