You are not actually at the vineyard. The tour is of their original facility that processes the wine. It truly is fascinating! You will also see the largest wooden barrel I’ve ever seen. No longer used, it held 100,000Litres. The wines and pairings are superb! Definitely worth a visit!

This beautifully incredible winery is high in the mountains, has breathtaking views, an impressive way of making wine and a robust flavor profile for many of their wines. When I first booked this experience, I didn't know what to expect. I haven't seen wine being made before and wasn't aware that Castorani wines was using cement tanks for making wines, when so often you hear about big metal tanks or barrels much like in a brewery. Their methods are so unique and it comes out in their flavorful wines. We had such a great host and very knowledgeable about the history, the process, what makes it different. We were not a big group at all, but I was welcome with open arms and treated just like family. While the winery was far from my hotel, I did spend quite a bit getting to the winery, but because the winemaker and I were going to same place, he offered me a ride for which I was so grateful for. Learning about the life of a winemaker makes me realize that with the changing times we may be in, or may feel we are in, things like wine are not to be treated like vices, but more like tradition and community and what to brings people together. Wine has been a part of society for over 2 millennia and the importance of community, environment, people seen through this winery made me buy a lot of wine to share the name and express the importance of Castorani wine.

It was a great experience! We were a group of 6 who lived in Silvi for a week and wanted an experience that would really give us that intimate, italian crafmanship- vibe, and this tour really gave us that experience! In the beginning it was a bit difficult to find the correct location since google maps puts the location too far away from the entrance, but our Italian taxi chauffour could help us find the right place after I came in contact with the tourguide.Then after we arrived the guide, who is also the ower of the winery ttok us to the testing. Unfortunately we didnt get a tour of the wineyard as it wasnt in bloom just yet (we were ther in the beginning of june). However we added the tasting menu to the drinks and it really elevated the experience! Everyone love testing the wines and listening to the guide explain how they make the wines and whats interesting and different about them. We all had a great time and bought some bottles to bring us home!Since our visit was of high-tourist-season it was also only us (6) during the testing, which felt really personal and exclusive :)Would really recomment this wine tasting in abruzzo!

This is such a special and intimate taste of Abruzzo and terroir of this region. Umberto was so patient and welcoming. We had a little trouble finding the place (the entrance was down a dirt road so we were a little hesitant at first) and he patiently helped us figure out where to go. He’s incredibly knowledgeable not just about the wines he produces but about Italian wines as a whole. We loved all of the wines we tested and hearing about his techniques and path to opening his own winery. He served bread with his olive oil and the most incredible figs from his fig tree, and another couple enjoying the tasting had booked lunch as well, prepared by Umberto’s mother. While we didn’t book lunch, I loved seeing the presentation of the plates, which could compete in any 5-star restaurant - they were gorgeous plates of food and true celebrations of regional cooking. The views from the vineyard are unmatched, and it was so special tasting wines that are un-tampered with - just grapes no chemicals. One of the most special experiences on our trip to Italy so far. After a confusing and a bit disappointing start, with it being cancelled on us, we tried to make another booking, however we were unable to get another tour for the next day. We were then contacted by the tour operator to organise another tour which was absolutely perfect. We were givien the tour by Gustabuzzo. It was fantastic. We were treated to some amazing food and drinks and because of our confusion with our booking we were treated to an excellent experience.

Great walking tour. Each location selected was very good. Would recommend that this be done on the earlier side of your trip to help get acclimated to the city. Our tour guide was excellent - her English was top notch and easy to understand.

Very interesting and educational tour of this state-of-the-art vineyard. We were very fortunate to have the tour conducted by the vintner himself, who explained in detail the Castorani philosophy and process. Truly impressive, from the restoration of the old hunting lodge and maintenance of the historic vineyard, to construction of the production facility and offices using local materials and solar energy. We also tasted three different wines, including our favorite red. Highly recommend this tour! You’ll need a car to get to the vineyard, but it’s a beautiful drive from Rome or Pescara into the countryside. Absolutely worth it!

Mathias was great! The tour was interesting. Wines were tasty. The experience with Mathias was truly exceptional, and we appreciate his efforts. The tour itself was genuinely engaging and kept us captivated throughout. Moreover, the selection of wines presented a delightful and flavorful experience. We were very impressed with the overall quality. Overall, it was an amazing winery visit.

The guide was amazing, so informative and the food was amazing! The best food tour ever. The quantities were generous, as were the wine tastings!

The hiking tour in Pescara is a good thing. If you travel alone and want to see something a good opportunity.

The tour was informative and informal ,the design of the vineyard was excellent. Don't expect old-fashioned ,this is 21st century. And the wines echo this .

The view 360 degrees around us was beautiful. Completely surrounded by the mountains, completely in the countryside, we received a super friendly welcome. Time was really taken to show everything and explain it in detail. After the tour of the vineyard and through the wine cellar we had the opportunity to taste not three wines but six wines… we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had a great time and the wines were excellent. Mattia is very knowledgeable and a very friendly person. The tasting room was great and they even gave us some cheese and Salumi. It’s a small winery so we felt like family right from the start. It was very intimate. I would definitely go again.

Never seen such a wine production installation that was so hygienist and modern. The guidance was top class.
