What a wonderful tour! Our guide, Angela, had an infectious enthusiasm for Portland. Angela shared her extensive knowledge about the city's history, its vast art scene, its design & transportation systems, its different populations, & food carts! -- all while we easily hopped on and off the city's streetcars. We visit Portland often and we now know things about the city we would have never known! Highly recommend this special tour!

A great tour for helping to understand and get a little under the skin of Portland. You cover quite a lot of ground, exploring various neighbourhoods. Doing so by streetcar is functional and convenient, in addition to feeling like a more authentic insight into city life. We certainly met many colourful characters along the way, interactions which further enriched the experience …. though I might not have thought so without a guide in tow! I was blessed with Shannon, who was native-born but worldly, really knew her city, and fun and easy company. As others have said, the intimate nature of this tour (in my case, it was just me!) made it feel more like a jaunt around town with a well informed friend than an organised tour.

Shannon was very knowledgeable and so easy to get along with. I really enjoyed the tour's casual, relaxed pace and got to see parts of Portland I never would have discovered on my own. Shannon was a terrific, easygoing guide.A couple of things surprised me. Since it's described as a streetcar tour, I assumed we'd be riding an actual historic streetcar, but the tour actually uses the city's public transit system. That's on me for making the assumption! The trains run above ground with large windows, but they are commuter trains. There also wasn't a sign at the meeting location, so I wasn't entirely sure I was in the right place. Thankfully, Shannon arrived right on time. And it took the mystery out of how to use Portland's transit system, and so in the evening, I felt comfortable taking the train to my other destinations.The tour also involved more walking than I expected, but I ended up enjoying that part. There was nothing strenuous, just the city streets. We strolled through several neighborhoods, and it felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring Portland with a knowledgeable friend. If you're looking for a broad introduction to the city, its neighborhoods, and some local history, I'd definitely recommend it.

Kelly was a dynamic tour guide, sharing lots of local knowledge including Portland’s vibe. We absolutely learned so much “behind the scenes” neighborhood culture and history. A definite tour to experience before wandering the Portland downtown and suburbs. Great fun to ride the light rail and walk the beautiful communities surrounding the city.

This was an interesting and comprehensive tour by streetcar and walking around multiple neighborhoods in Portland. Did you know that there are 90 neighborhoods in Portland? You could tell that Kelly loves Portland.

I am 65, first time to Portland on a solo trip. This was my first day, I picked this tour since I was hoping to get a feel for navigating the city. Shannon was my guide, I couldn't be happier. She taught me how to use the public transit with confidence, even had a card and map for me, I never once used Uber/Lyft. When the tour concluded I knew about the other sites I wanted to see (and how to get there), history and current events. Shannon had the answers to all my questions and then some. I absolutely recommend this tour, particularly for your first day to get your bearings, build confidence in a new location which made all the difference for me. Great combination of walking and streetcar through different Portland neighborhoods. Do this one first so you learn the transportation systems. Potential for extra stops at places you pass if the timing works out ( I managed to snag a mimosa during ours). Angela is a Portland transplant who clearly loves the area and was able to share lots of info and current events.

What a wonderful tour. I got to see really cool neighborhoods in Portland riding streetcars and walking. My tour guide gave some history as well as pointing out cool buildings and things to see. I loved it.😊 I recommend this informative tour. I feel I know downtown Portland better now and I can say, I want to come back.

Shannon did an amazing job guiding us through the city. This tour is a great way to learn how to use the local streetcar system and get an idea of neighborhoods you may want to further explore while in the area. The tour was set at a leisurely place with plenty of time for snacks and bathrooms breaks along the way. I recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your trip.

This is a fascinating way to see Portland. The combination of using the street cars in conjunction with a guided walk makes for a great experience. You get to see much more of Portland than you could possibly cover just on foot. It's a great way to get a sense of the variety of Portland neighborhoods as well as the history of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun and gave us a great sense of what makes Portland tick. Very highly recommended.

We had so much fun! We only had a limited time so we chose this tour as a good overview. Riding the streetcar and getting out to walk in neighborhoods and industrial districts was such a novel way to travel; it was like going around with a good friend who gets off to show you their favorites. but the good friend is a great storyteller. thank you so much to the around Portland tours crew for a great day! we lucked out with some beautiful weather but I think it would be a nice tour in the rain too because a lot is inside on the streetcar.
