Top Nafplio Outdoor Activities

This was one of the highlights on our trip! Mira is a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable on the region and small village. We learned to cook a traditional Greek meal, share stories and enjoy our lunch. The ladies of the village showed much hospitality and shared their cooking skills with us. This tour takes place in a mountain village- about 45 minutes from Nafplio. It was well worth the beautiful drive for our experience. Next time I am in Greece I will look into more tours with this company. I love to learn the local culture when I travel.

Everything as described was exactly what was offered. We changed the order of the itinerary due to possible rain in the afternoon and Solon was very accommodating. All of the sites described were really great. The mountain experience was better than expected. Solon was extremely helpful on the hikes with the part of our group that was not as agile. He gives great information about each of the area we visit and our lunch stop at the top of the mountain was beautiful and delicious.

Today we did a five hour hiking tour with Antigone to the Abgou Monastery in the hills outside Napflio. The hike was perfect for a group. A medium challenge with an amazing destination. A small abandoned monastery with commanding views of the area. Antigone shared her knowledge of history, archeology and nature and even made us coffee on the roof of the monastery. It was a magical day and the April wildflowers were impressive. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to spend a day off the beaten path.

Antigone was a friendly & terrific guide! The pacing of the hike up to Avgou Monastery was compatible, the trail easy to negotiate. She regaled us with history of the region and the monastery. The scenery and wildflowers were gorgeous. The perfect hike for our group, and one she loves as well.

GrecoPaths didn't take us to Greece — they took us into it. This is the kind of experience that reminds you why you travel in the first place. Mira, our guide, brought us to Kaira, Greece. We were staying in Nafplio and given a Maps link to this village. We plugged it in and found ourselves in a tucked-away village that feels genuinely untouched by the tourist trail. The place carries a quiet magic — partly the scenery, partly the pace of life, but largely (we'd learn) the water. Kaira sits on a natural spring, and locals and visitors alike make pilgrimages here just to fill bottles from it.We started the experience in a small village restaurant, one of two, learning to make stuffed vegetables and then tzatziki lesson was our kid's favorite part; we've already made it at home since we've been back. The chef didn't measure a thing, and we learned what 'just a little bit of olive oil' really means in Greece, quite a bit.Then came the moment that will stay with me longest. We walked through the village to a grandmother's home — her actual home, not a staged replica of one — to make cheese pie on her back porch. Her wood-burning oven is one of the few in town. She worked the dough and the filling with the casual efficiency of someone who has made this pie hundreds of times. We helped, humbly, and she was patient with our clumsy hands. When the pie prep was finished, after our small hike to the water aqueduct, our lunch that we helped make was finished and we dined all together and the sweet grandmother walked the finished cheese pie to us.If you're looking for a true local experience, this was it!

Solon was our guide and we had an amazing day. He spent 9 hours driving us around Mount Olympus and showing us all the amazing sites. He even went above and beyond to use his drone to provide some amazing pics and videos of our day. We booked for a taxi driver and we got a saviour instead. Christos, the man of many wonderful mannerisms and a catalogue of space and time. He knew the distance and time it took to go to random places we named. We went to the Corinth Canal where we stared out to the water and experienced severe vertigo on a rusty bridge. We dodged the swarm of tourists by going to the other side of the bridge.We then went to this small fishing town for a quick stop to look at fishies.Then the main event, the olive oil tasting. We stopped at Kalieleon, this local olive oil factory where we met the most energetic 80 year old that lived off the stuff (literally bathed in it). Sampled a bunch olive oil (not the one he bathed in). After tasting about a pint of olive oil with bread on the side, we went to the gift shop as we watched this guy wash himself in front of us as a marketing stunt. It worked as we probably bought half his shop. Full of olive oil, bread and the promise of longevity, we went to this beautiful lake for a quick dip.We were given a choice of what to do next so we headed to Corinth Castle. The drive up was luxury. Icy cold air-conned vehicle on a 30 degree day passing a panoramic view of a seaside town and many sweaty miserable looking tourists who decided to walk.This great big fortress on a hill overlooking…everything. It had already been a long day so we didn’t stay long, otherwise it would be been a full day of exploring ruins.Stopped for lunch at this cute Greek place with the view of Apollo’s temple before heading back to the best view of Athens to end our trip. The entire trip Christos was a joy to ride with. We did not feel rushed at anytime and the conversation was fun and informative. Christos went beyond our expectations and made sure we were safe and looked after.My only feedback would be at the start, we watched some videos to get us informed of the area. I think we could have skipped the last video as the first 2 was more than enough to get us excited.12 out of 10 would recommend Christos. I think he could have driven us anywhere and it would have been great.

Christos was extremely helpful and friendly during our day trip.He is very knowledgeable and offered us help beyond our expectations.We had a pleasant day out in the Peloponnese region - I would recommend this tour and his services greatly :) he made our Greece trip a comfortable and happy one.

Aristi has been a great guide. Very nice walk on the heights of Nafplio. With its valuable information on the history of Nafplio and its surroundings. Very attentive. We highly recommend.

This is a great tour. It lasts all day but you get to see so many things. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen. Katarina was an amazing tour guide who made it fun. She even made tirokafteri at our table at lunch. Our tour guide for Dion was also great. Highly recommend. The hike on Olympus can be as easy or difficult as you want.

Our 3-generation family of three — 85 year-old, 60-year-old, 25-year old—had a great time at this cooking class in a small mountain village. If you’re an experienced cook don’t expect to learn anything new, but that won’t stop you from having fun while making good dishes with women who have been cooking them all their lives. Our guide Mira was truly top-notch and helped ensure a top-notch experience for all of us.

Wonderful day with guide Mira and the rest of the GrecoPaths group! We (my family) were driven by Mira up to a mountain village and enjoyed meeting other members of the GrecoPaths staff, including Stavroula. We spent a little time with them, and then the first chef instructed us on making stuffed vegetables and tzatziki in the kitchen of a small taverna. Atfer that, we walked over to a local woman's home where she and her sister helped us make a cheese tiropita. We learned about using local ingredients, sampled local herbal mountain tea, took a walk in the woods above the village to see the views, and at the end, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch including what we had made and a variety of other dishes including grilled lamb chops. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, as well as informative. Very glad we decided to include this day in our trip! (Note that transportation is a separate charge, but we found it was well worth it.)

Lovely guide & driver, knowledgeable, relatable & both very kind & considerate....we had an amazing day & learnt a lot, going on another trip with this company today to Pella & Vergina....don't hesitate to book this company!
