Beautiful place, hidden yet resonant with calm energy.Lina was amazing and gave us a great introduction to the instrument and its philosophy. She shared secrets of the ancient magical art of Polemnea with real passion.The session felt a bit cut short at the end, which left us wishing we had more time to wrap up the experience.Also, it would be wonderful to see an instrument discount for Greek musicians snd music students living abroad, helping bring these instruments into international conservatories and universities.

Wonderful experience- the artists,Dimitra and Camilla welcomed us very warmly. They offered us tasty snacks and guided us to the creation of our mosaics with patience and professionalism. Highly recommended! You can learn a new skill and create a beautiful mosaic of your own!

Our experience at the Seikilo museum was incredible. Their mission of instruments needing to be "played, not displayed" rings true with the amazing professional lyre player beautifully demonstrating the reconstructed instruments. Whether you are a musician or not, hearing the ancient songs -- especially the epitaph from which the museum is named -- is a poignant experience that we will never forget. Thank you for having us, and keep up the great work!

I was lucky enough to gain a spot on the incredible tour these luthiers offer of the eir passion project! Reimagining the use of the ancient lyre (and kithara), the mainstay of Ancient Greek music. We often attempt to recreate images of what Ancient Greece looked like. This is the closest I’ve ever felt to what Ancient Greece actually sounded like. Absolutely delightful!! Now I see lyres everywhere in sculpture and painting, and I can hear the music!!! One of my fave experiences in Thessaloniki!

This was such a great experience! I’m not a very musical person at all, but within a few minutes of sitting down with my teacher, Lina, I was playing an Ancient Greek-style lyre. Very unique and highly recommended!

Excellent opportunity to touch a piece of ancient tradition and feel connection to the past by playing the same music as the people thousands years ago. Very educational look into Greek musical history and the origins of Western music theory. And if you are into music and history, this may prompt you to buy a new instrument that you've never considered before. You've been warned ;)

Amazing experience ❤️love the the artwork, friendly environment

I recently learned how to make Byzantine mosaics, and it’s been such an inspiring experience! The materials I bought especially the glass mosaic tiles were of excellent quality and at fantastic prices, much better than what I’ve seen in London. There was a beautiful variety of colors and textures, perfect for creating authentic, traditional designs.The owners are incredibly knowledgeable, very approachable, and always ready to help with advice or suggestions. Their passion for mosaic art really shines through, and they make the whole experience enjoyable and welcoming. I’m so happy with how my first mosaic turned out and can’t wait to start my next project. Highly recommended for anyone interested in mosaic art or just starting out! Thank Dimitra & Kamila !!!!! I’m coming back for the creative art design workshop!!!!
