What an amazing experience! I highly recommend it. I went solo on my first day in Lyon and it was such a great idea. Nathalie is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who’s clearly passionate about food and history. She also gave us some great tips for later that I’m definitely going to use. Book it!

Our day on the Côtes du Rhône was simply a standout. Olivier’s knowledge, investment and enthusiasm for what he does makes the say special. Always ready for yet another question and so educative in his approach. It was a privilege to be able to learn from him. His contacts, knowledge of the best food and produce in the region and sampling some truly memorable wines are reasons why you cannot go better than a day with Olivier.

Multiple wineries, real local spots, and a guide who actually knows his stuff
We usually plan our own trips down to the last detail, so booking a private wine tour wasn't something we'd normally do — but this was absolutely worth it. Olivier brought us to picturesque local spots we never would have found on our own, took us to a local restaurant for an authentic meal (not a tourist trap), and arranged visits to several wineries including small, family-run wineries throughout the day. He was extremely knowledgeable and generous with his insight at each stop — we left having actually learned about the region and the wine, not just tasted it. If you're someone who likes to DIY your travel like we do, I'd still say this is one of those experiences worth handing over to a local expert. Couldn't recommend it more.

Highly recommend Kanpai Tours!
Olivier put together an incredible, customised tour of Beaujolais for us. We visited a total of three wineries of which he recomended two and then sorted us out with a third we asked him to take us to. Also enjoyed scenic views along the way. Olivier is very knowledgeable and shared stories about the history of the different Beaujolais villages and the area. I highly recommend his services to anyone visiting the area. I will absolutely reach out to him again on my next trip to Lyon!

This was a fun, relaxed and informative evening with Nicholas. We enjoyed cheeses, wines, meats and a delicious meal in several establishments. Nicholas also provided great advice on where to eat and where not to eat. Highly recommend this evening tour of about 3 hours. Our group size was 12 people, 8 UK, 2 Swiss and 2 Canadian.

Natalie was a wonderful guide—very knowledgeable and generously shared a detailed list of great things to do and see around Lyon. However, the tour itself didn't quite deliver on value for over €90 per person. While the cheese and charcuterie tastings were enjoyable, the food overall was just average. The main course quenelle at Chez Grand Mère was ok, but serving it with only water felt like a missed opportunity—a glass of wine would have paired much better, especially since wine options throughout the tour were very limited. We wrapped up with ice cream at the end and got to take home the regional pink praline brioche, which was a nice touch. Great local tips from Natalie, but hard to justify the price tag.

Visited 4 different establishments to taste cheese, wine, charcuterie, quenelles of pike, praline brioche & digestif. Great tour that incorporated some history along with a gastronomic experience. We enjoyed each stop and had a nice variety of foods. We left feeling full and with a knowledge of Lyon’s local dishes and rich history.Elisabetta was a wonderful guide! She was knowledge and customized what she talked about based on our interests. Stephanie was an exceptional guide, very informative and charming. The food was delicious and more than enough to count as a full meal. The wine was pretty good too. This was our first night in Lyon and it was a great way to start because now we have her recommendations to help us plan the next few days I highly recommend Stephanie as a guide.
