He was passionate about teaching history and showing us the way around the village and countryside. As a younger group, we were interested in a more cultural experience on Ios and this was perfect. JAMIL : 5/5 It was unforgettable! My wife and I and our two adult children took our first sailing trip with Renato and Luciana in August 2022. It exceeded every expectation we had. The boat was exquisite; From the cleanliness of its every nook and cranny to the elegant teak wood throughout, it was evident that this vessel is well cared for and a source of pride for its owners. Renato created a fantastic itinerary in the Greek Cyclades that took us from one magical place to another. His sailing expertise and knowledge of the islands was clearly on display. At every stop, he had helpful insights for us to maximize our enjoyment. But the biggest surprise for us was the food. It was simply sublime. Luciana prepared some of the tastiest and healthiest meals we have ever had! The best breakfast, the best pasta, the best gnocchi, the best…, always with the freshest ingredients and most exquisite presentation. George introduced us to some locals as well to give a bit more depth to what he was showing us.If you’re thinking of booking this I would 100% recommend it! I did Tour no.5 with George and it was everything I wanted. He offered to pick me up in the morning where he made me an espresso and let me try the breadsticks he got from the local bakery.The hike we completed was absolutely amazing, where George spoke about the history, the culture and everything in between. He introduced me to some of the local elders as well as his friends on the way and even got to try some of his homegrown figs (which I got to pick!)He is an amazing and passionate tour guide and person and I thoroughly enjoyed my hike with him!

This tour was such an amazing experience. I went with my husband to Greece, we are from New York and wanted to know more about Ios. George was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us many things about the island that we wouldn't have known otherwise. Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to George for being a brilliant tour guide! His rich knowledge of the island was fascinating and provided us with historical and cultural context for our further exploration of the island. The tour is a must, as George points out several things that many tourists may miss.The experience was intimate, with myself and my partner being the only ones on the tour. George himself is very personable and we really appreciated learning about his personal connection to the island. We immediately felt at ease and we left the tour feeling as though we had just spent some time with a local of Ios. He is easy to reach via WhatsApp before the tour so we had no trouble finding him.We were also given recommendations of food and restaurants on the island, which proved to be delicious. George recommended historical sites across the island, providing some information about them as you could see them from afar. Be sure to check out Homer’s tomb, which George is writing an academic book about! He also has a website if you’re interested in checking that out.We would highly recommend Ios Island Trekking Tours! George’s tour was well thought out and he stopped to take pictures of our family so that my family and I could be in the photos together. We enjoyed his stories and history of the island very much. I would come back and take a different tour of his in order to experience other aspects of Ios.

My friends and I took a Paths hiking tour with George in June 2023. It was a nice long one covering many kilometres through beautiful rugged countryside with spectacular scenery and sites of interest. We saw many old ruins and churches. Several of the sites had scan codes that we were able to scan with our phones to learn more about the areas we visited. George was well informed and had a wealth of information, he truly loves his island and its culture. He packed some traditional Greek snacks for us that we enjoyed at our rest points. If you enjoy the outdoors and exploring, I highly recommend taking a tour with George on the island of Ios.

We did a private hiking tour with George, and what a wonderful time we had!We got to see stunning places that tourists are typically not able to access and learned many interesting facts about the island and its history. George is a very passionate and thoughtful guide, and was always aware of providing a safe and fun experience.Any trip to Ios should include a hike (or multiple) with Ios Paths! Highly recommended!
