Awesome experience, Jose was amazing! Go hungry, there’s no shortage of food, you’ll leave stuffed! Jose takes the time to personalize the meal to each person’s preferences and was held in a very cool century-old apartment building!Weird booking glitch, nothing to do with Jose. Kept getting notifications from Cool Destinations that booking had been cancelled while at the same time receiving reminders from Cool Destinations when and where to meet. We showed up anyway hoping Cool Destinations was wrong and glad we did!

Highlight of our trip
We had such a wonderful experience with Lorena on our first day in Mexico City! Taking her cooking class was the perfect way to start our trip. Lorena was incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and she did such a great job making the experience both fun and educational. We started with a tour of Mercado Medellín, where we sampled a variety of fresh ingredients, fruits, tortillas, and even some insects! Lorena shared so much interesting history and insight into Mexican ingredients and their connection to the culture, which made the experience feel much more meaningful than just a cooking class. From the market, we went on to prepare a delicious four-course meal together. Lorena patiently guided us through every step of the preparation and cooking while explaining the history and traditions behind the dishes. We loved being able to make the meal ourselves and then sit down and enjoy everything we had prepared, along with our choice of beer, wine, agua Fresca or mezcal. It was an unforgettable experience and such a special introduction to Mexico City. We’re so glad we did this on our first day and would absolutely recommend Lorena’s class to anyone visiting CDMX!

We met at a market, which was super easy to find. Then Veronica give me a little tour and show me how to pick the best produce. A short walk later we were at her house making the most delicious salsas and tortillas I have ever had.Vero was the best host I could’ve asked for. We talked about food. We talked about life. Her recipes were so tasty. She was super knowledgeable about everything. We need more experiences like this in the world.. I would definitely take this class again and again.

We got quite lucky with booking this experience during the quiet day of the week, and we essentially had a private salsa making lesson with Veronica.This tour is great if you like learning the fundamentals of salsa making. It was an educational experience. From the market visit, to our walk to the kitchen -- we felt immersed in a small part of Mexican culinary culture. We highly recommend this experience for all levels of home cooking experience, and we cannot wait to apply what we learned when we get back home to Australia.

Great Cooking Experience in Mexico City!
Margarita was an amazing host and we had a cooking lesson at her very beautiful house. She showed us how to make a full course meal including how to make a lovely sauce as well as a very simple but delicous dessert. She also gave us some wine while we ate which was a lovely Mexican White wine. The process was easy to follow and we plan to use almost everything we learned again to cook back home.I would highly recommend her and thank you Margarita for showing us a lovely time.

She welcomed us into her beautiful home, and from the moment we arrived it felt less like a class and more like being hosted by an old friend. Lucia is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Mexican food and cooking traditions, and that passion made every step of the experience engaging and memorable. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City! Our chef provided a truly authentic experience, teaching us not only how to prepare delicious Mexican dishes but also about the country's rich culinary traditions and culture.The visit to the local market was fantastic, and even the insect tasting was a fun and memorable experience! I especially loved learning about the different fresh and dried chilies and how they are used in Mexican cooking.The class was very hands-on, and I've already recreated many of the dishes at home.
