To say that my wife and I enjoyed our tours would be a disservice to Stephen. We were amateurs when it comes to Burgundy wines. Our goal was to learn and taste wines from the region. Stephen's knowledge and choices of wineries was fantastic.

Undoubtedly the best wine tour company we have used in Beaune. The selection of vineyards was perfect for our tastes and it was well tailored to meet our needs. Dylan was fun and knowledgeable and the the vineyards were all excellent. The lunch was superb and a great choice. We also really appreciated Dylan organising the shipping for us as the wines were so excellent we ended up ordering far more than we could carry! A perfect day out!

We were very well taken care of. Stephen is extremely knowledgeable about the region and its wines, and that made a huge difference in our experience. He selected an excellent itinerary of wineries and places to visit, helped us with everything we needed throughout the day, shared many valuable insights, and has a great sense of humor. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

We had a group of 8 visiting Burgundy for the first time, and this wine tour run by Burgundy Discovery was a huge highlight of our trip! Thomas Trucy (Tom) was perhaps the best guide I have ever had, and we've probably done over 30 guided trips around the world over the years. His knowledge of wines and the area, his humor, and his ability to relay information in an easy-to-understand way for both wine afficianados as well as some more beginners in our group was truly impressive. I came to Burgundy wanting to of course taste some great wines and food, but really also to be educated about the region and how to better understand Burgundy wines. How much we learned across one day was phenomenal. I cannot recommend Tom enough! Truly a great experience felt unanimously by our entire group. Unquestionably, 5 star knowledge and service! Thank you again, Tom, and Burgundy Discovery!!

We enjoyed the overall experience. Our guide was knowledgable, professional and very personable. Communication with the operator was spotty leading up to the trip which led to some confusion around the itinerary and pickup. Once we got started, the day went smoothly and we had a great time.

Only three people in the group, the tour was very private. Thomas was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable with wine and the region. Lunch was also delicious and in a great setting.

Jodi and Stephen, who run the business, are amazing - very responsive, attentive and took care to tailor a trip exactly to my liking and specs. Their staff is very professional, kind and responsive as well. Everything ran very smoothly from the initial call to the very last Goodbye with the tour guide Dylan. Dylan who accompanied us throughout the day trip was terrific - punctual, kind, extremely knowledgeable on many topics - from wine and terroir, to the interesting facts about the region - from past days to nowadays. We had a private ride - with a super comfortable spacious van, cold bottled water throughout the day trip, and a lunch at a resto we asked the service to suggest and reserve for us. I highly recommend booking your trip through Burgundy Discovery - the attention to detail and degree to which they can tailor your trip to your expectations and requirements is unparalleled. The whole team is top notch!

We had the best day on our private wine tour in Burgundy. Our guide Tom was extremely knowledgeable and great about teaching us all about the complex nature of burgundy wines, terroir, politics, and economics in an approachable, and very importantly a non pretentious way. Lovely wineries, an excellent lunch spot, and the van was very comfortable for the day. We had our two small-ish (7 and 9 year old) kids with us and they were very welcome on the tour and all the stops. Absolutely recommend!

This was a wonderful wine tour, and we recommend it to anyone. Our guide, Thomas, picked us up exactly when and where he had described. Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable and had perfect English, very helpful for our group from the US. We visited multiple sites, from large high end wine producers to a small family wine production. In all places we had excellent on-site guides as well. Thomas educated our group first about the intricacies of the terroir in Bourgogne as well as the historical underpinnings of the wine ranking system. He also taught us the fascinating history of the region, and used maps to describe our tastings through the day from each plot and climat. We tasted outstanding wines from Bourgogne and villages rankings, as well as many premier cru wines and even a few grand crus! We were very lucky to have this excellent guide directing us through the details and tastes of this beautiful wine region. We also were able to see incredible countryside and views, as well as wending through tiny villages on our way to our several destinations. Lunch was outdoors at a lovely restaurant with delicious food - a good midday break. At the end of the day I was a far more experienced taster of the fine wines of Bourgogne and gained valuable knowledge I can now use when purchasing these wines at home.Overall the experience could not have been better! I strongly recommend this tour, these wines, and this guide. Thank you!

The day tour allowed my wife and I to see a lot of Burgundy vineyards and learn many details about the wines. We visited two wineries and tasted multiple wines. Our guide Dylan was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. There was a lot of advance planning to tailor the experience to our tastes and preferences. I highly recommend the experience. Although expensive it was totally worth the money.

I have been in the wine industry for nearly 30 years, and in that time been on many great wine region tours, as both guest and host. We enjoyed elegant lunches with views that were every bit as memorable as the winery visits. From planning lunch spots to recommending restaurants for dinner, the team ensured we found the best of Burgundy.For visitors who have a lot of wine knowledge already, you’ll have a great time talking about tasting and geography with Stephen, who has encyclopedic knowledge of vineyard locations, and can point out your favorites or take you for a glimpse of those that are world-renowned. The company’s relationships with local producers means that those who have visited many times before will learn something new. I was able to glimpse the future by visiting young producers on the cutting edge of modern Bourgogne viticulture and winemaking, which was exactly what I had requested and hoped for.For visitors who know nothing other than that they like to drink wine, you’ll learn from your guide as you chat amiably between winery visits. Rest assured that French-English translation will never be a problem during tastings; my mother particularly enjoyed the guide’s additional insight in decoding phrases and ideas that aren’t easily translated from French into English. Guests also receive a very helpful educational book: Burgundy Discovery’s own “Burgundy Wine Tour Roadbook”, complete with maps, local facts and figures, and helpful comparisons of the wines from different regions – it made for excellent reading during the trip and beyond.I feel lucky to have found Burgundy Discovery and look forward to trusting the company to plan all my future visits. I’ll be recommending their services to friends, family, and students of wine. It is the easiest choice you can make in your travel planning!

Our experience was top-notch. Stephen did a fabulous job of taking us to a variety of wineries, small and established. He is very knowledgeable. He took the time to understand our taste and preferences and guided us in that direction. Stephen was so enjoyable to be with a great conversationalist. My wife and I travelled to Burgundy with a couple friends in late July. What a success! This can be attributed to everyone at Burgundy Discovery. We had three days visiting six wineries, one wine club and a cooking class. Our guide for the three days, Dylan, was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, professional, warm and friendly with excellent english. When we return to Beaune we hope to have Dylan as our guide again. Dylan has also done a wonderful job communicating after the trip with our wine orders.The communication from the whole team from beginning to end was great. Starting with the owners Stephen and Jodi but also Caroline and Elise. Caroline kept us informed on the timing of everything along the way but especially just prior to arrival and during our stay. We had total confidence in the coordination and it all went off without a hitch. I almost forget, they arranged a driver to pick us up in Lyon and return to Lyon as well.The recommendations on our hotel, wineries and cooking class (Adeline) were perfect. Merci encore to everyone as you made our first trip, but not the last, to Burgundy unforgettable. We hope to one day come back to Beaune for much longer than five days.
