Top Beaune Attraction Tickets

Did the tour with Hortense at Maison Champy yesterday afternoon. It was welcoming, informative and fun… it does help when you are doing a tour/tasting that your host is so friendly and engaging. Tour was seamlessly conducted in English and French and the wine chosen was wonderful. Having done other tours/tastings in Beaune, this is the one I’d recommend to anyone coming to the city. Merci Hortense et Maison Champy.

Excellent presentation about the long history of this Burgundian producer that was comprehensive and aided by helpful screen that showed the different subregions that Champy works with. The visit to the cellars enabled a deeper dive into that history with bottles dating to the 19th century. The tasting of 2 whites and 3 reds was illuminating and interactive with our guide Daniel. The 10 people was the right number for the tour as well. The whole facility combined the historic nature of the building with its Eiffel iron supports and completely updated architecture/decor.

Superb visit, beautifully maintained place. Thanks to the owners for letting us access this property full of positive energies. Land networks, fountains with superb rainbow trout, an incredible plane tree over 200 years old, 37 meters high and classified remarkable tree of France. Very quiet place, soothing and very pleasant welcome. It warms the heart to still see places of nearly 1000 years still protected, preserved from there so-called modernity. A place that makes you want to live there. You will also find a bookshop through which the entrance is made and a small cafeteria with vending machines to eat its picnic sheltered if necessary. We also saw hiking trails. Everything to have a great day.

Very nice to explore and for great photographs. Almost no visitors at that time. An entertaining excursion destination. Admission not cheap, but you can see that is renovated, restored and maintained.

Everything was fine. The guide Daniel very nice. He answered all our questions very clearly and was very nice. In addition to an interesting tasting you learn a lot of historical things and the cellars are very beautiful!

Beautiful discovery! A magical place, full of history, a wonderful heritage! What more can I say?! It is to discover, visit, look, admire, photograph,... In short, take inspiration from this heritage that is almost 1000 years old, and let yourself be guided. One of the most beautiful we have visited, and we have made it!

We had very enjoyable tour and tasting my husband daughter and friend. We were accompanied by another so there plenty space opportunities to ask questions and see the Maison Champy with all its long history. The guide was very good and welcoming and obviously well informed. We very much enjoyed the wines we tasted and we did in fact buy some. This was the first tasting where we paid to taste which we found better than a free tasting where you can feel duty bound to buy some wine even if you were not sure about the wine! 🍷 We would all highly recommend a visit to Maison Champy. Thank you Hortence for a great tour. I had no idea @ Louis Pasteur and Gustave Eiffel's connection to Champy! See/learn about what's surrounding Beaune and below your feet in this lovely town. The tasting is accompanied by an appellation map and a thorough description of the Burgundy wine region and what you are drinking. You have time to look at the historical documents and enjoy a delightful tour right in the heart of Beaune. Highly recommend.

This tour was fantastic and very interesting. Learn/see about the Champy connection to Gustave Eiffel and Louis Pasteur, and how burgundy wines used to be solely for religious use and were opened up to the world. Loads of history and good tasting to follow with a large map of the area showing you appellation, ratings, and you leave with a great overview of the wines of Burgundy. You also get to see what's underground the lovely town of Beaune.

We had a great time at Maison Champy this weekend! The visit was really interesting, and our passionate Clemence guide made the experience even more enjoyable. The tasting at the end was a real pleasure.We were then greeted in the shop by Daniel, who knows wines at his fingertips and gave us excellent advice. We left delighted, with some very good bottles to enjoy.

One of the most beautiful abbeys I know in an admirable country setting. In 1098, the Cistercian order was born in Cîteaux, an ideal of simplicity and a return to the rule of Saint Benedict.In 1112, Bernard de Clairvaux, a 23-year-old from a Burgundian family, joined Cîteaux. His charisma and fervour give new impetus to the community.In 1115, he founded the Abbey of Clairvaux, one of the first “daughters of Cîteaux”, which became a radiant center. From there several abbeys were born, including Fontenay in 1118.Fontenay is today the only abbey founded by Saint Bernard that has remained intact throughout the centuries. Rare testimony to Cistercian monastic life, it still embodies the sobriety and harmony advocated by its founder.

I had an excellent experience at Maison Champy. Our host was knowledgeable and friendly. I thought the wine was partciculary good and reasonably priced. I'd recommend the visit to all
