Top Williamsburg Christmas

This was a great tour that not only discussed Christmas traditions and wreaths but also provided a strong introduction to colonial life. We greatly enjoyed our tour with Bambi.

Tom was a fantastic guide! He knew a a lot toabout Williamsburg and its history. He also told us very interesting facts and how we get the sayings and expressions we use today: he really “tied one on last night, “dressed to the nines”, shave and a haircut “two bits”, and several others!

What a great introduction to Historical Williamsburg! Tom was an engaging and well-prepared guide. We were surprised how many connections there were between the origins of Christmas in Williamsburg and the modern world. We really appreciated how Tom made these connections through common expressions. We normally opt for private tours, but, this one was great even with 20 or so people in the group. All of us liked the tour, even though we had a range of family with us: 12 year-old, a couple in their 40s and several folks in their 60s. I'd do it again and would recommend it to friends and family. Thanks, Tom and company!

This is a truly informative and relaxed way to learn about Colonial Williamsburg & the decorations. Our guide Will was wonderful and made it fun for all of us, even the youngest who is 10.

Wonderful! A new look at Williamsburg that is not colonial. Lee Ann was wonderful as the head of the USO in 1943 tending to the soldiers stationed at Camp Perry during the Christmas season. Highly recommend. Reminds us that Williamsburg had to adjust to life in the everyday world also

Lonnie was very knowledgeable about the decorations and tour was very interesting. He was able to take us back in time to appreciate and understand Christmas time in Colonial Williamsburg

Absolutely! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. There was no rush and he had a lot of patience for questions.

Matt was one of the most considerate and attentive tour guides we have had- and we have been on many tours! In addition to providing interesting information about Richmond and the tacky lights tradition, he was a good driver, made sure the temperature and music on the bus wasn’t too hot/cold and loud-all important when you are on a bus for four hours! He went to at least one neighborhood that is not included on other tours and we had plenty of time at each stop to walk the street and see the homes up close. Really amazing and entertaining. We would recommend this tour and Matt to anyone who wants to see the lights up close but doesn’t want to worry about traffic and directions themselves. We definitely got our money’s worth.

It was a fun an educational experience.

Well we both fell ill and were unable to stay for the guided tour but we were able to take in some of the sights. We will come back to Williamsburg again!

This was a really fun 90 minute walk with stops every 50 feet or so at which point the friendly and very knowledgeable guide shared interesting stories from the history of colonial Williamsburg. This particular tour was focused on Christmas traditions but had very interesting stories about the history of many of the sayings we still use today. Fun for all ages. It was a great introduction to Williamsburg and made us want to come back to learn more.

Very nice experience with my mom…private tour was prefect because it was at our pace and we’ve been there before many moons ago so it was nice to be able to remember things and ask questions without taking anything away from anyone else.

If you want to do something Christmas-themed in Williamsburg, this is a great choice! Bambi is a very knowledgeable guide and she gave us tons of historical information as well as great explanations of all the Christmas decorations and the materials used, etc. Some of the wreaths that are made are quite unique. It is entirely outdoors, so dress very warmly and carry some hand and foot warmers. Bambi gives opportunities to stop for hot drinks as well. It is a leisurely pace, you won’t feel rushed. And she took several lovely pictures of us as a family. Highly recommend this tour!
