Great 1st. Trip to the Amalfi Coast
It was a great excursion to get to know the Amalfi Coast. The meeting point was easy to find and in the Bar Picnic you could enjoy your coffee and breakfast beforehand. After we had gathered at Clemente's, we were led to the port's ticket area and were guided onto one of the ferries. Here you have to be lucky regarding which ferry is running according to the schedule. The group did not sit together, but chose seats that were free. A bar on the ferry invited us for the next coffee.
The first step was Capri, but we only stopped there. It was nice to catch a glimpse of the island. Afterward, we traveled along the coast until we arrived in Amalfi. Clemente came by regularly during the trip, was very caring, and with his funny nature, was always ready for small talk or a longer conversation. Clemente organized another boat tour, on which you could sit in the outdoor area and which lasted about 30-40 minutes. This panoramic boat tour was really very nice for me, as you could now experience the entire coast. Subsequently, he recommended a restaurant in Amalfi to us, where we had a good lunch. We still had time to look at the cathedral and eat a typical Italian ice cream. The ferry from Amalfi to Positano took about 20 minutes. In Positano, we strolled through the alleys and went shopping. You can spend a lot of money here. Other participants, for example, booked their own boat tour, while others went swimming.
Amalfi has a beautiful old town, where in my opinion, the food comes first. Positano is more sophisticated, has many steep, narrow alleys, and the prices for drinks and clothing speak for themselves.
We had a wonderful time in both places.
The ferry we wanted to use for the return trip to Naples was very crowded. Because of this, it was decided spontaneously to take a later ferry on which seats can be found for all of us.It was a very nice excursion to get to know the Amalfi Coast. The group was very good, who got along really well with each other, and Clemente as a leader was a really good choice.Depending on what the windows of the ferry are like, I would prefer a boat trip with a clear view in one of the towns, otherwise the magic of the coast is not done justice.5 stars
