Bordeaux is a special Wine region. There is much to understand about how French wine world works. We started our OLALA journey with a 3 hour MASTERCLASS with Hugo who was outstanding in teaching the left and Right bank St Emilion regions. We tasted several nice wines to help tie all the info together. Our second day was with a group in a very comfy Mercedes van and we did Right Bank tastings at Chateaux’s and visited the UNESCO village of St Emilion. Day 3 was private for us and the Left Bank Chareauxs were incredible. Our guide Valentin was outstanding both days. Valentin has special relationships with the Chateaux personnel and we got VIP treatment. The lunches both days were very nice. Whether you are a first time wine 🍷 lover or a deep dive Wine Snob and want to learn more— this is for you. Great job. D & K Palmieri Phoenix Az

We were the only English speaking couple in the class of 12. The guide did a good job making the class bilingual—2 sets of slides explaining the harvesting process turning grapes into bottled wine. Tasted 3 wines which when then used to blend a final wine bottle. Bottles were corked and sealed and a personalized label placed. Red and white option. The class took close to 3 hours.

We had a great time with Samara learning about local French cuisine. The beurre blanc turned out wonderfully. The shopping stops before we arrived at her apartment added to the evening and dinner accompaniments. This was a personal experience and not a big stainless chef’s kitchen. If that’s what you’re looking for, she’s the one to go to. Bon appetite!

I mean, let’s admit you visit Bordeaux because of wine, and learning about different wines within Bordeaux leads to understanding of so much more than just in the region, but weather and culture.James was so wonderful, and I only hope that my wife and I get to visit Bordeaux again, do the tasting again- we learned so much more in 1 hour than having to bear pretentious rambling of our ‘wino’ friends.James recommended a ruin and a wine bar that perfectly complimented our trip after the tasting.
