Bordeaux Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Very fun narrative in French and English.

This was a relaxing experience. It was lovely to be on the water and the tour guide did a great job of explaining all the river sights.

We had a lovely dinner in our hosts apartment. It was nice to see a little more of the city, hear about her experiences living in Bordeaux and cook a delicious meal together.

During this afternoon tour we visited two Grand Cru estates in Saint-Émilion, Château Rol Valentin and Château Vachon. Both are family owned estates that produce a variety of high quality, affordable Bordeaux wines. They both offer shipping services for guest who’d like to continue enjoying their wines when they return home. Both visits were informative about the region, wine making process and the families historical passion for wine production. Along the way our guide, Margot, provided an upbeat interactive experience for our small group which created a positive atmosphere for us strangers to genuinely enjoy the tour together. She’s highly knowledgeable of wine in the region and its historical context. The only constructive feedback I have is that there wasn’t enough free time in the Saint-Émilion village. That was one of the main reasons I booked this tour vs several other options and 20 minutes just wasn’t enough. The tour should be scheduled for a longer duration to accommodate for delays, traffic and any other factor that may limit free time in this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. The aperitif (wine, cheese, nuts, bread) at the second vineyard was very tasty and added an authentic feel to this touristic excursion. I highly recommend booking this tour if you want to explore more than one Château and do not plan to rent your own vehicle while visiting Saint-Émilion. We did this Bordeaux walking tour on the first morning of our stay in the city. It was the perfect way to learn about the city, its history and wine, plus it helped us find our way around and decide what we wanted to do during our stay.Caz was friendly, knowledgeable and entertainingI'm very happy to recommend this trip

We were the only English speaking couple in the class of 12. The guide did a good job making the class bilingual—2 sets of slides explaining the harvesting process turning grapes into bottled wine. Tasted 3 wines which when then used to blend a final wine bottle. Bottles were corked and sealed and a personalized label placed. Red and white option. The class took close to 3 hours.

Brilliant 2 hour walking tour. Well worth guide Caz was professional friendly and gave us the opportunity to pick his brain about a lot of topics in between the stops.

We had a great day with Yev. He speaks very good English, explains well ,very knowledgeable n helpful . He prepared cheeseboard lunch n entertained us with stories. He drove back to the 2nd vineyard to collect back my hat which I accidentally left behind . So nice of him ! Really appreciate his service n kindness

We had a really nice time ! The activity was fun, interactive and easy to follow. We learned a lot about wine and had the chance to create our own blend. The team was very friendly and welcoming. A great activity to do with friends or family!

We were lucky enough to have a private bike tour with Antoine. He was great. He took us to all the places and had so much knowledge. We had a great day

We came back to bordeaux and booked a new tour with Said, this tour was not a usual historical tour! Said took us a journey to disocver the hidden history behind Bordeaux and also fascinating local legends! after you take this tour, you will see Bordeaux differently, i highly recommend it for anyone who wants to discover the secrets carved in stones while listening to an amazing storytelling!

We had a great experience viewing the major sites of Bordeaux by bike. Our guide, Daniel was very knowledgable and friendly.

Paola was amazing and planned a great day for us. We saw two different wineries with different styles of wine, and enjoyed another tasting in St. Emilion where we were able to try several different styles to see what we like. Paola also scheduled a great lunch for us at a traditional French restaurant in St. Emilion. We were back in Bordeaux by mid afternoon to enjoy the rest of our evening.

We had a great time with Samara learning about local French cuisine. The beurre blanc turned out wonderfully. The shopping stops before we arrived at her apartment added to the evening and dinner accompaniments. This was a personal experience and not a big stainless chef’s kitchen. If that’s what you’re looking for, she’s the one to go to. Bon appetite!
