Porto Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

PC was an excellent guide and narrator for the day. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and local history. The wineries were wonderful and we greatly enjoyed the boat tour of the river. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great wine tasting experience and tour of the lovely portoguese countryside. 10/10

Highly recommended. The Captain & His mate were professional, attentive, and able to accomodate our beverage & appetite intake. The 2 hours goes by quickly on their fabulous private boat! Weather & temps were fabulous to sit outside and enjoy the Douro views in Porto ! Thank you for this highlight for our trip !

Lovely trip guide was really good explaining about different bridges and other buildings along the river. The good size glasses of different wine was delicious and so was the snacks and tot of port at the end.

Felipe was a great guide. The e-bikes were comfortable and in good condition. It was a great introduction to our arrival in Porto. They were able to accommodate us walking up when we found them a few doors down from our hotel.

Sebastian was a great guide and made sure our group made our way safely through Porto. There was a good balance of riding and stopping to see the sights (from the outside) and learn a bit of the history. This was a great activity to do on our first day in Porto so we could get our bearings around the city. The only thing to be aware of is that you ride on cobblestone streets quite frequently so it can be a little bumpy.

A wonderful experience that I would recommend. Took a private hire trip with friends. Great atmosphere on board and stunning views along the river. The boat was very clean and comfortable. Our host was fabulous, wanting us to enjoy the whole experience. He was very informative about Porto and served us some delicious vinho verde, port and snacks. Two hours passed far too quickly. It was the highlight of our trip to Porto. Thank you.

What an amazing experience. Pedro, our guide was both funny and knowledgeable. He definitely made the experience what it was. Boat ride was beautiful and so enjoyed the winery.

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed the tour on Saturday. The vineyards were in incredible locations and we had a lovely time. The stand out element to the day though was Nuno. What a great guy! So flexible and always giving us the choice of what to do, even showing us places that were not ordinarily part of the tour. His rendition of David Bowie Under Pressure will stay with us forever!

Incredible experience. Cannot recommend this yacht trip more. We had a private yacht with Emily and Goncalo as our hosts. From the very first moment we were welcomed with open arms and shown round the yacht. Our hosts were so friendly and knowledgeable. We had some lovely wine and snacks. Emily talked about our surroundings and answered any questions we had. We had enough time to chill out and the interaction with the hosts was just the right amount. Was one of the best experiences with an organised tip we have ever had. Thank you Emily and Goncalo for making our trip extra special.

We absolutely loved the yacht!! Our every wish came true, from the wonderful charcuterie tray to the lovely bottles of white wine from the Douro region. Maria took very good care of us and made sure our glasses were never empty, and even brought our snacks to the top part of the yacht. A perfect experience!!!

Jose is a delightful guide and communicator. He shares his love for the culture and the wines generously. He was attentive to the individual needs of the participants.The 2 wineries selected represented the products of the Douro well and the presenters were outstanding…especially Yass at Quinta Rumo Silvestre in Sabrosa.The boat tour was cute but unnecessary although it affords you the view of the properties along the Douro.

What an incredible way to experience Porto and the beautiful Douro Valley! This tour had the perfect combination of wine, sightseeing, great food, and unforgettable scenery.We started with a wonderful visit to a local winery, where we had the opportunity to learn about and, of course, enjoy some of the region’s excellent wines. From there, we took a short and scenic train ride before boarding a boat for a relaxing cruise along the magnificent Douro River. The views of the vineyards, hillsides, and surrounding countryside were absolutely breathtaking.We finished the experience with an outstanding traditional regional lunch accompanied by more delicious wine. The food was authentic, plentiful, and the perfect ending to an amazing day.If you enjoy great wine, beautiful scenery, local cuisine, and experiencing the culture of the region, this tour is a must. One of the highlights of our time in Portugal and an experience we will always remember! 🇵🇹🍷❤️

Our tour guide Vincent was amazing, he was so informative and took us to places we would never of discovered. This was a great way to see Porto and places off the beaten track. I would highly recommend Vincent if you could pre book him. 10 out of 10 fabulous day.
