Athens Travel Guides (Updated October 2026)

I booked this tour for my second day in Athens to become familiar with the city and experience some great, authentic Greek food, both if which the tour provided in spades.Joesph, our guide, was very friendly and helpful recommending further places to visit once the tour was over. We stopped at 6 places to eat (bakery's, gyros, a taverna and an olive oil tasting) and I was very full by the end! Would recommend to anyone visiting Athens for the first time.

Our guide had a wealth of knowledge he was so positive so happy and so patient with us. It was hands-down, our favorite part of the entire trip. His kindness and his representation of this beautiful country was five star.

We had such a great time. Alex was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable and kind. We walked in parts of Athens we probably would not have seen otherwise. My favorite place was the coffee shop, and my husband favorite was the spanakopita. We highly recommend this tour!

Julie was the best guide in Greece. I could not ask for anything better! The food was amazing too!

After 12 days and 7 other tours in the Mediterranean, this one was by far the best. It was well organized, easy meet-up, incredible sites and I highly recommend the museum. However the real star was our guide Andrea. She was well spoken and very knowledgeable of both the site and culture. She also injected fun into the tour and shared personal antidotes of her Greek family including her grandmother who is apparently an expert at shaking olive trees. We will be bringing our adult children back to Athens next summer and I am going to book this tour for them.

Loved the experience with Joseph. He took great care of us. Even though the Plaka was closed because of the explosion we still saw so much.

The tour guide was fantastic we loved the tour

You learn a lot about Athens as well as trying great food! Elena was an excellent tour guide. We learned about the neighborhoods, churches, and government as well as trying baklava, olive oils, coffee, souvlaki (BIG lunch), markets (near, fish, fruits and vegetables, spices), and dessert. I learned so much and saw places, restaurants, and markets where I want to return. Wonderful tour!

Tour guide: 10/10 Quality of stories: 10/10 Quantity of stories: 7/10 Locations: 10/10Foti was an amazing tour guide. She was personable and was able to fill the gaps between location with great conversation. We toured with two other people and she made it easy for everyone to participate and interact with each other. Foti went the extra mile and took pictures throughout the tour for us. The only downside is that it seemed like there was an opportunity for more ghost/horror stories to be told. Other than that, the tour was amazing.

Fantastic tour with Dimitris. Good bikes and a great route that introduces you to much more of Athens: you cycle through the suburbs and down to the sea as well as the city centre. Lots of stops along the way where Dimitris shared stories, insights, and information in a very engaging way (and in perfect English) Overall you get a better understanding of modern life in Athens as well as some of the historical highlights. Don’t be worried about cycling in Athens: the route is well chosen (lots of cycle paths) and Dimitris was a careful as well as fun guide. Strongly recommend

The 4 actors were very skilled in performing their roles. They showed great enthusiasm, and it transferred to the audience. It is a must see , especially if you’re interested in World Literature.

Foti was great. If you're looking for a pleasant walk through town with a knowledgeable guide and some morbid history, look no further.

Theo was a fabulous guide, fun and full of historical information that everyone truly enjoyed. He was not only knowledgeable but he was kind and attentive as well. We all learned so much from his extensive knowledge.

So much fun. Entertaining, actors were engaging Backdrop of Acropolis was fabulous A great evening

The Tuktuk tour easily got us around Athens to see some of the outlining spots including the Olympic stadium and Mount Lycabettus (Lykavittos / Λυκαβηττός). There were plenty of stops for pictures. And I almost left out that got to see the changing of the guard.

This was a fantastic experience. The food was wonderful and the guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time.
