Queenstown Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

What a fantastic experience in Queenstown, a change from the fast, thrillseeking activities that seem to lure the tourists here, the Kiwi park is just a lovely, calm experience in a beautiful setting. It was so awesome to see Kiwi up close, as well as all of the other native birds. Handsdown a highlight of our day!

We loved this cruise across the lake, and the farm was a beautiful little corner of the world to visit. The steam ship had wonderful ambience and was such a comfortable way to take the journey, with a piano in the bar upstairs and a platform below to watch the steam engine in action. The scenery along the way was perfect, and arriving at Walter Peak farm the trend continued with picturesque buildings and gardens. We did a farm tour which included lambs, goats, donkeys, alpacas, sheep and highland cattle, and then enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with plenty of tasty options and supported by highly attentive staff. The timing of the return journey was perfect and gave us a little bit of extra time to poke around by ourselves before returning to Queenstown. All in all a great day out.

It was a great trip to the Walter peak country farm

Everything went great from start to finish Micheal was a great pilot with plenty of knowledge & fun. Definitely recommend for a family. Everything was on time Cruise was quite busy & congested tho as the only possible negative but still awesome.

We had a great time, well organised! The best and original jet boat ride, wouldn’t bother with the ones down by the lake.

We really loved this experience, the BBQ Lunch was delicious and the working sheep dog show was great, we learnt a lot. The lovely TSS Earnshaw was like taking a step back in time. It was a smooth cruise and facilities were exceptional.

Loved the whole experience. Easy check in process and super friendly staff. We had a very small group so wait time at each platform was very minimal. Such a scenic, beautiful spot to zipline. Warwick and Jakob were both knowledgeable, professional and fun guides

Fabulous experience - the time travel was epic!!! We loved it!!! Wish it took us on a little longer travel - felt it was too short.Atmosphere was fabulous as you walk down into the observatory....set the scene for a time travel experience.Friendly staff and A MUST SEE to understand the history of Tahuna (Queenstown).Suggestions: 1) Provide small area for families (children) to be seated, while waiting to enter the observatory. There were "dont sit here" signs and "staff only seats" but nil options for guests.2) Clean the outside of the observatory window for a better view of the lake life.3) Have an option to provide coins for the coin operated binocular viewer for those that only carried money cards. Or make the binocular card accessible.

What a wonderful and exciting adventure. Unbelievable scenery, a great host with Benn, our jet boat pilot, funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. Had the best time. 5 stars for Dart River Adventures.

We had the most spectacular flight and cruise to Milford Sound. We were very fortunate to have perfect weather. Our pilot Lily was professional, informative and lovely. Highly recommended this tour.

Great experience from start to finish, When Tyler the captain arrived we thought he looked way to young to captain a boat, he did a great job, was very informative and took great care of us. Well worth it.

Traveling on the Earnshaw Steam Sip is such a great experience. And then the food, just amazing and the farm so beautiful. Something you just must do when in Queenstown.
