Olympia Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We really enjoyed our tour with Cristos and Nancy. We had a larger group so two cars were needed and it worked out great as a few of us needed to get back to the ship earlier. Cristos and Nancy were super accommodating and patient. We highly recommend for people who desire to create their own itineraries.

We had a wonderful guide, Theodora, who shared her archeological background walking us through the ages of Olympia and the Olympic Games. There is so much varied history here and she is able to discuss all. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour!

Andreas was amazing. He is very personable and has a very nice car. He went above and beyond in taking us for a tour and for a special lunch.

If you are a history person and have interest in the beginnings of the Olympics this tour is for you. We were lucky enough to have an archeology master as our tour guide (Theodora) and the information flowed effortlessly. She kept the tour and times on scheduled which is always appreciated. The town of Olympia was very cute and enjoyable. Having the extra time after the tour in port was also appreciated. Would recommend 👌 👍.

Excellent experience. We had some issues with tendering and Dimitra was great to work with, letting us know when we needed to be ready to go. The tour itself was fabulous! Theodora was a great guide, full of knowledge all around the ruins. There was so much to see, but we were able to learn more than what was just on the plaques around the area. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone on a cruise ship. The air conditioned bus back and forth was also welcomed!

Sortiria was excellent! She explained everything so well. My husband and I could not imagine touring the Olimpia archeological site without her.

This was a wonderful excursion. Theodora was fantastic. She spoke perfect English and was very understandable. The headsets worked great. The history of the venue is very interesting and worse seeing.

The Best!!!!!! Wow!!! is all I can say. We had booked all previous excursions through our cruise ship. We took a chance and booked this one. And we will never regret it. Stathis was phenomenal. He took such amazing care of us. Customizing our trip to suit our needs and wants. His knowledge and recommendations were top notch. Olympia The most amazing winery Beautiful stop at a hotel on the Mediterranean Sea with superb beer and appetizer options. We felt safe and had an absolute blast If you book this trip, YOU must request Stathis.

This is the best excursion and one that we enjoyed so much. Effie was our Tour Guide who was very knowledgeable and loved sharing information about her region and Alexis our driver was great. We had an amazing tour guide, Maria, at the Olympic Site ruins. She shares so much great information. I heard one woman pass by me saying about her unrelated tour that “this was underwhelming “ and I really wanted to tell her she had the wrong tour guide! Maria brought the original Olympics to life for us! She was awesome, I could have spent a week with her. She was so knowledgeable and made a pile of rocks come to life! Then off to the beekeepers home…Klio and her mother, Theodore were so lovely and kind and made us feel so welcome in their home. In Klio’s beautiful gardens we were treated to Quince spoon treats, a delicious juice and Greek coffee as she shared her beekeeping trade. We were able to sample some honey on a traditional baked good while her mother shared the natural healing effects of honey in their products. Afterwards we visited Elena at Padelina’s where we learned about and sampled olive oils, balsamic vinegars SO Yummy! Thank You so much for picking these guides for us!!!!!

This was our favourite tour! Nikos was an excellent guide helping us get the most out of our tour of Olympia. The visit to the Drouva Winery was a trip highlight. This is a small family run boutique winery with two plates of delicious Greek bites prepared by the mother. We had a table by ourselves and loved every minute of this experience. Highly recommend to everyone!

We had an excellent tour with Zoe. With her help we could fully immerse ourselves into the atmosphere of the site and learn so much about the Olympic Games. We had a perfect trip with her!

Excellent way to discover this magnificent site, without missing the essentials. Available in several languages, very friendly welcome, in the shop across from the church. Let yourself be guided and you will imagine yourself in the stadium, you will handle the javelin, you will light the Olympic flame.
