Normandy Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We have gone on many Viatour excursions and they have all been good but this one was the very best one so far. Our tour guide Alex was extremely well informed about the subject matter and did an amazing job of bringing everything to life for everyone on the tour. It was a long day to get to all the sites but he paced everything really well and had a great sense of humor that helped keep everyone engaged. Overall we would rate this tour a 12 out of 10. Do not miss out!

Great day trip to visit Normandy sites. Our guide, Elise was a great tour guide…pleasant and knowledgeable about historical facts about WWII. We visited Omaha and Utah beaches, along with a stop in Saint Mere Eglisse.

Ash was amazing! His tour was fun as well as educational! Length of the visits perfect! Awesome job!!!

Maja gave a nice historical overview of the events and the heroic efforts involved in the D-Day invasion. It was very inspirational and informative.

Jean Gomis was excellent driver who honored our wishes to allow us to walk the city, pick us up, and take us to our next area throughout the day.spoke excellent englishand understood how we wanted to tour the city on our own. Got us back to our ship on the time we requested. And was early to pick us up at the ship. Safe driver through the crazy Paris traffic.

This was a wonderful tour. Antoine provided just the right amount of history and stories to make the abbey walls come alive. He has a dry sense of humor and considerable knowledge about the area, as well as about US history. He also chose a lovely place for lunch with excellent local food choices. Plus a visit to a heavenly caramel store. A great guide! Also, this was a good time to go. Although there were plenty of visitors, it was not packed, so navigating the stairs, twists, and turns and listening to the audio tour was great. Thanks, Antoine!

Fabulous guide! She could not have been more knowledgeable and great fun! We had the best day! Xxxxx

A fantastic trip. Honfleur is one of the loveliest towns I have ever visited. The tour guide Lawrence was absolutely 1st class. Absolutely recommend this trip

Lawrence was a very knowledgeable funny and great guide. I give him 5 stars ⭐️

Interesting, helpful, and personal.

We enjoyed the information the guide provided about Monet and the various areas of the garden.

Wonderful tour with a small group and very knowledgeable and personable guide. Our guide Louis's love for the Mont was evident and he made a point of making our experience a memorable one. Highly recommended!

Great tour with a knowledgeable guide covering the historic aspects in depth, Morgane had a binder of maps and photos she used to explain in depth aspects of the invasion. Tip: be patient waiting for pickup as there will be many vans and buses there at the same time, but the drivers will walk the crowd with signs showing the names of who they are picking up,

Mataes was our driver and the whole experience was phenomenal. He was a very safe driver, provided plenty of water, allowed us to determine how long we would stay at certain places based on our wishes while maintaining our schedule and making it back to the ship on time. Highly recommend.

Amazing tour with Martin! We had only a day to enjoy Le Havre which we decided to try and rapid see Paris. This was a great way to see some of the beautiful city. Only a very small taste but enough to make us want to return.

Great trip! We had a perfect spot to have our picture taken at the Eiffel Tower. Our tour guide Maarten was wonderful! He provided a lot of interesting info about Paris. Highly recommended!
