Countryside Castles and Coast Tour in KentO2437TXjenniferm, Aug 2026
Real Local Knowledge & Lore with Hidden Gems
Absolutely wonderful tour of the gorgeous lands in Kent!! Anthony was super knowledgeable, kind, hilarious and accommodating - all the best things a guide could be. We really felt like we received a deep dive into the history of the area without ever feeling uninterested. Highly recommend for all and hope to come back again soon!

Give Yourself the Extra Day — Don't Book the Bus!
We travelled in an ultra-comfortable Mercedes luxury van, which made all the difference. We got to see the White Cliffs of Dover from the beach — no tour bus will ever get you to this spot.Leeds Castle is the most unique and history-filled castle I have ever visited, and the onsite food was very good — they even have cocktails on the lunch menu. One afternoon is not enough time for this tour. Give yourself the extra day if you can. And whatever you do, don't book the bus option — the private van makes the experience.

Great car Great driver
The driver was a few minutes late due to traffic in town. He more than made it up by getting us there in a very timely manner. The car was clean and the driver was friendly. Would definitely use this service again.

Tour of Kent
Extremely knowledgeable and very flexible. Loved that the van could get into locations that a big tour bus cannot. Anthony gave us personalized tours at every location. Would book tour again with Anthony if visiting the area again!

A Most Glorious Progress Through the Garden of England
A Most Glorious Progress Through the Garden of EnglandMarry, if ever there did walk a guide most worthy of all commendation, it is Anthony. Verily, the man is a very treasury of knowledge, whose discourse doth flow as freely as the Stour, and whose love of history kindleth wonder in every heart that hath the good fortune to hear him. What seemed at first but a simple day's journey became, by his learned wit and merry telling, a noble progress through the ages. From the steadfast White Cliffs of Dover and the valiant memories of Hawkinge, unto the solemn peace of those brave souls who lie together in the Commonwealth War Graves; from the fair village of Chilham and its ancient castle, to the stately beauty of Leeds Castle; and at last to Canterbury, with its crooked houses, hallowed ways, and venerable gate—each place did live and breathe by virtue of Anthony's excellent narration.Naught escaped his knowing eye. Every lane had its tale, every church its history, every stone its voice. His learning is profound, yet worn with such good humour and grace that one might think History herself had chosen him for her herald. As the immortal Bard hath writ, "All the world's a stage," and upon this day Anthony proved himself the finest player therein, bringing the past to life with rare eloquence and boundless delight.I can but say this: if thou seekest not merely to behold Kent, but to know its very soul, then pray thou findest Anthony to be thy guide. A richer day could scarcely be imagined, and for such an adventure I give my heartfelt thanks.God save Anthony—and long may he lead such merry companies upon England's storied roads.

AWESOME AND IMMERSIVE WAY TO LEARN ABOUT PILOTS IN BATTLE OF BRITAIN
Seeing where the enemy planes came from, seeing the pilots riding from the barracks to where they waited to scramble to their planes, how they fought, how some died, seeing where they went to drink and where some are buried is truly a Battle of Britain (BoB) Experience. As advertised, this tour totally delivers and is well worth the cost. I highly recommend this tour. This tour is a great way to learn about the BoB in a day and especially about the pilots who fought, their stories (for example, how one pilot developed a manoeuvre where he could dive in and attack 3 enemy planes during one pass, Roger whose character was in the movie "the Great Escape", etc), what they did and for some, how they were killed. This included the stories of the 7 pilots at the "Spirit of The Few" Monument and some of the pilots whose plane's wreckage pieces are on display in the museum and at the memorial. Hearing their stories saved having to do a lot of reading. In addition to the pilot stories, I really liked everywhere we stopped; the gun emplacement at St Martin's Battery, BoB Memorial, Hawkinge Fighter Station, BoB Museum and the Commonwealth Cemetery (here both RAF and Germain pilots are buried). I really enjoyed the stop for a drink at the Inn where pilots went for a drink. At the BoB Museum, Anthony highlighted some of the more interesting things and their stories. There was so much to see here that I could have spent a whole day here. As an added touch we passed by and saw places related to the 1969 movie "Battle of Britain".Photos at the BoB museum are not allowed but through Anthony, our guide, we got permission to take pictures with the outside exhibits. Photos are not allowed to respect the pilots whose pieces of their planes are on display. Anthony was willing to take our photos throughout the tour.
During our tour, Anthony showed us other things along the way which included stopping at
"The Pig" where Led Zeppelin once played and pointing out where "Ian Flemming" once lived and the place where a young Mozart once performed. Our day concluded with a walking tour of Canterbury which I thought was very well done and interesting. It was nice to have lunch at the oldest Inn in Canterbury and to see the Inn where the 4 knights had a drink before going to the Canterbury Cathedral and killing Tomas Beckett.Overall I felt that this tour was very "professional". It was delivered by a very knowledgeable guide who spoke clearly and whose narration was easy to understand. It included wearing good over the ear earsets (not earbuds) and being shown pictures from a binder to further explain things we were being told. Anthony made sure we saw everything we wanted before moving on. It was a nice paced tour where one didn't feel rushed. We rode in a very comfortable (cool) and roomy vehicle.Lastly, I felt that our guide Anthony was truly dedicated and extremely passionate about telling the stories of the lives of those "FEW" who fought in the Battle of Britain and Canterbury.Thank you Anthony for a "WONDERFUL", comprehensive, fact filled day and for the "Battle of Britain" experience. As advertised, this tour totally delivers and is well worth the cost. I highly recommend this tour. Those "FEW" live on. Mega Kudos.

This was one of the best experiences we had on our trip - highly recommended
This was a fantastic experience. Anthony absolutely made this day great, not only with his knowledge of the subject matter but also with how easy he made the day. As mentioned Anthony is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and brings a very human perspective to this with commentary about specific pilots and their lives and experiences. This allowed us to get a real sense of what it would have been like at the time for the people of Britain but particularly what it was like for the pilots and the support crews. The locations visited were well selected to provide a good insight into the nature of the Battle of Britain. We had plenty of time at each of the locations and never felt rushed. Anthony was very flexible with some of the places we visited including an amazing hotel that we had the opportunity to see (and hopefully stay in in the future!). The tour was tailored to our requirements and Anthony was very helpful picking us up from our hotel and dropping us to the train station. The conversation was very pleasant whilst enroute to the different locations and several excellent book recommendations were made. At the end of the tour Anthony provided us with a list of the places we had visited and was very helpful and provided some suggestions for places to visit in our future travels to the Cotswalds. Can’t thank Anthony enough for such a memorable day. Highly recommended!

Tanya was an absolutely...
Tanya was an absolutely great guide. She shared so much information: history, everyday life, and more!!! But it wasn’t too much, it was just right. We saw a bit of everything, countryside, little towns/villages, and historic landmarks. The tea was delightful! All in all a 5 star day!! We’d request her as a guide anytime! Thanks!!

The best in Kent!!
Anthony showed us so many beautiful places in Kent, and explained so much history. We were able to see so much more than on other tours, and Anthony found a delightful pub for lunch. I’d take this tour again!

The best way to see the White Cliffs of Dover.
If you have a boat to catch in Dover, I fully recommend sneaking this tour in beforehand. Tanya shared her vast knowledge of the area in a fun and engaging way and went out of her way to accommodate our travel plans. Very enjoyable all round.
