Welcome to Breckenridge

Just west of Denver on I-70, Breckenridge Colorado is a premiere ski resort town with 34 lifts, the most of any Colorado ski area, and 2906 acres of rideable terrain. Founded in 1859 to serve miners working placer gold deposits along the Blue River, Breckenridge transitioned to mountain tourism in the early 1900s, with skiing introduced in 1961. Today, the quaint downtown, with hundreds of restaurants, shops and saloons, is the center of an outdoor sports mecca with everything from extreme sledding down mining roads to axe throwing and gold-panning, to more common pastimes like hiking, biking, river running, off-road tours, and fly fishing on the Blue River that runs right through town.
