Top Netherlands Comedy

What a wonderful night at Boom Chicago! The cast was amazing! We laughed all night! A highlight of our vacation in Amsterdam. It was something the whole family enjoyed (two 50 somethings and two 20 somethings). Highly recommend! Go with an intent to participate and have fun - the cast needs your feedback and enthusiasm!

I went to Boom Chicago very often from 1997 - 2002 when I lived in The Netherlands as an expat and it was always such a special place. So many memories with great friends! To see where it has come today is truly mind blowing. So many epic, globally-known comedians were born at Boom. (And yet they are still so humble!) So loved being back to see a show this week after so many years. Thank you Saskia and Andrew! xxx

It's really great to let me know what a city can experience. Before I knew only the famous sights and malls, now I can experience some of the local specialities like dining, guided tours, niche attractions, etc. And it saves a lot on ticket costs, making my trip more fulfilling and colorful. The only problem was that the location of the address often deviated, such as the meeting place for this one-day trip to Sheephorn Village. Go city was incorrectly located and I had to check the email again and re-navigate according to the meeting point mentioned in it.

What a fabulous pass. We did over 20 things and got over €450 of value from the pass.

Fun evening out with good sport comedians who had an unfortunate heckling audience. Great experience.

Staged by a local group called “The Amsterdam’s,” it’s a “Gong Show” version of standup comedy in English. Each wannabe comedian had 5 minutes to tell their jokes—unless there were 3 “gongs” from the audience. It was a lot of fun to participate and to watch a number of very good, new standups. It’s a small operation and takes place every Monday night at 7:30 at a neighborhood bar. Kendra the emcee is sharp and really gets the audience ready for 2-plus hours of laughs. And the burgers and fries looked like well made with ample portions too if you want to eat dinner first. A real bargain for about $20 for the show. A great change from the usual Amsterdam nightlife.

Fun night out in a super relaxed brew pub. I have been a few times and I am going again next Monday. They have a constant rotation of comics and the vibe is perfect. The location is also good. It's a brewery. So the beer is super local and the food is delicious. I can't think of a better way to start off my week. Also great for people visiting Amsterdam that want to laugh and enjoy a locals spot.

Fantastic night! Despite a slight issue getting the Trip Adviser purchased tickets scanned in the venue, we had a cracking night. Great bar and very reasonable prices bearing in mind where we were. Upstairs 'Into The Attic' for the comedy experience. Really well laid out intimate setting and then a truly masterful display from our Comedy Compere!! A wide range of comedians throughout the show, nice crowd work without being harassing and a headline set worth of any world class comedy clubs! Thanks again to everyone involved 👍🏼💜

I had used my pass on more things then I thought I would. I saved so much money by having this pass and got to experience Amsterdam in it's full. Totally worth it

Wonderful. Things to improve are there, such as the locations of meeting points are not matching with the addresses given and the location maps uploaded in Go City App. So we had to go up and down to find the meeting point location, not all the attractions but one or two places.

Friday 14 Nov Wow, what a night! One wild, wild crowd. I have never been to such a wild comedy club. The bar is full of half naked wrestlers when we arrive (the downstairs room has pro wrestling going on apparently) loud, loud music and a shot fueled party is in full swing in the bar. The atmosphere is electric. We wonder what we have come into. The 10.15pm comedy embassy show is booked out. The bar runs out of beer by 10 pm and we are given g&ts at beer prices. (Got to love that policy.)The show starts and the audience is completely wild - The MC castigates and disciplines us all delightfully. She rocked but, I still fear for the comedians to come - we are a wild, wild crowd. But wow what a night. The first guy up is from Iraq and warms us up nicely. Then comes an hilarious bald comic Jacob who was an absolute blast. He has us and hanging on his every word and laughing like hyenas. Would love to see him again. Closing the show was a funny south African comedian. All in all 2 hours of great laughs and great atmosphere. Top class comedy

The Comedy Embassy Improve at Boom Chicago is always great fun. Have been there three times over the last year. Improve comedy is always a little hit and miss. That is its nature. The Comedy Embassy is way more hit than miss, although the number of laughs can vary from night to night. That’s the nature of improv comedy. The atmosphere is great and the venue is warm and welcoming. It’s definitely worth a visit.

I first was brought to Boom Chicago in 2002 and loved its quirky improv comedy..I brought my wife (who used to manage a theatre) in 2011 and she loved it. This time we brought our daughter who is studying amateur drama as a hobby. She loved it too..On a trip to Amsterdam that involves visiting the amazing art and canals of traditional Dutch culture, visiting Boom Chicago is essential to experience the complimentary craziness of the modern Netherlands. Although the comedy team do lean too much on the audience - and although some scenes fall flat - the overall experience is good fun and a great night out. One limitation the team may face is the modern fear of being cancelled fornsaying the wrong thing. In 2002 Boom Chicago did hilarious skits and lampoons of politicians. In todays mich more sensitive times they are more constrained. But they still put on a good show. I recommend.
