This cooking experience was exactly what we were looking for! 15 years ago in Rome, my husband and I took a small, in-home class with a chef and had the most wonderful time. Our newly minted adult son wanted to try it too. However, that same opportunity has become commercialized, along with every other option we can find. So I was excited to find this option in one of the other cities we would be visiting, and we got matched with the most marvelous chef - Rafaella!It was just the three of us in our family along with Rafaella - who kindly welcomed us into her warm and inviting kitchen to teach us. Rafaella contacted me in the days ahead to ask for help with the menu, and carved something out that suited our family well. We made a ton of food and ate too much! Definitely plan to take home leftovers, bring Ziploc bags or some takeaway containers, and plan to have a refrigerator! We were leaving town the next day and we’re not able to do that.We ended up learning to make a ragu sauce, fresh tagliatelle, eggplant parmigiana, and tiramisu - all from scratch - and all organic. Everything was absolutely delicious and this was the highlight experience of our trip!We made a giant mess, and Rafaella would not allow us to help clean, nor did she eat with us. But she did join us for a toast, a blessing, and dessert!Absolutely would recommend this experience! 10/10!!

If I could give this 20 stars I would. This was an amazing experience that we will remember for years and years. This reminded me of a Sunday dinner with family. Lara was so welcoming, accommodating to our kids (8&4) and we learned so much about Italian cuisine. This experience is an absolute must.

Excellent experience that perfectly reflects the basics of Italian tradition

Maria Luisa and Ilaria were a great pair of hostesses. We had a beautiful evening preparing food and becoming good friends. The food was amazing. Requires little cooking skills and yet as an experienced pasta maker I still learned some things that will elevate my cooking These ladies are absolutely delightful.

Very personal pasta making experience!!! Wonderful experience making fresh, handmade pasta in Maria’s home. She’s and her partner were excellent teachers and hosts, not only showing us how to make three shapes of pasta but sharing local culture and history.

Maria Luisa and her friend Ilaria provided a wonderful experience that started with a market tour, explanation of what ca be found there and some local history about famous cafés and a pasticceria. Following that we walked to Maria's apartment to begin the cooking class. Maria explained clearly all the steps required to make the dish of the class, tortelloni, a large ricotta & spinach filled pasta. I got to mix the ingredients and get them ready to make the tortelloni. Bruschetta ans lambrusco were served while the dough rested. Maria showed me how to form the tortelloni and I made some. Avsage butter sauce was prepared(tradtional) and I enjoy the fruits of our labor with more lambrusco. It was incredibly delicious. Homemade tisamisu was the finale. Maria Luisa also makes rlher own balsamic vinegar which I got to taste with fresh parmigiano reggiano. Amazing. I enjoyed this tour amd cooking experience immensely. Ilaria was the translator and videographer. She share all the photos and videos and Maria Luisa sent me the recipes. I'll never forget this experience. Grazoe mille Maria Luisa & Ilaria.

We loved our time with Luisa and Ilia. They were full of love and passion for the ingredients and food of Modena. We spent time in the market, looking at the stalls and chatting to the merchants before going back and making tagliatelle with fresh tomato sauce. Both Luisa and Ilia were so generous and welcoming and we would recommend the experience to anyone going to Modena.

Spent a fantastic 3 hours with the lovely Maria Luisa & Ilaria. From the beginning at the Albinelli Market these ladies made us feel so welcome that we actually felt like we were meeting old friends! The pasta making class was good fun & even a couple of novices like ourselves managed to follow. The ragu was amazing & the tiramisu delicious! For us this was a fantastic way to experience some home cooked traditional Italian food! I would highly recommend this experience when in Modena.

We recently visited the Acetaia Malagoli Daniele as a birthday present, and it was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. Merve and Barbara are wonderful and their passion for sharing Italian traditions made the entire experience feel both personal and authentic.The pasta-making class was not only informative but also a lot of fun! Merve guided us through each step, making it easy for even beginners to feel like pros. After creating our pasta masterpieces, we visited the vinegar attic of the Malagoli Daniele family with Greta, who was also lovely, where we learned about the traditions and the process of making balsamic vinegar. Tasting the aged vinegars was the delicious highlight!The best part was sitting down to enjoy the fruits of our labor in an authentic setting. The food, the atmosphere, and the wonderful company made for a perfect day. This experience offers a genuine slice of Italian life and culture, and we can't recommend it enough!Thank you, Merve, Barbara Greta and Laura for a truly special experience. We’ll cherish these memories (and recipes!) forever!

Okay Im going to copy and paste parts of this review a few times as we did many things at this Acetaia. We stayed there 8 days. It was INCREDIBLE. Like I can't even put into words how great and how much I miss them now that we are home.Barbara the owner is literally the greatest person on the planet. Since this is officially about the pasta class I say It was best day of our trip and best food and we visited 6 cities. We learned so much from Barbara and she loves teaching. She loves helping. She loves being a mom and grandma. You really do feel like part of her family. To say I will send her Christmas cookies for the rest of my life is an understatement of our love and gratitude for her.If you can take Barbara's pasta making class don’t hesitate.She was amazing x 1000. So kind. So informative. So authentic. From start to finish of our 8 days we were taken care of. Our flight was delayed and we arrived many hours post check in. She didn’t mind and even had pizza waiting. The house is about 3 miles to the train. So mot walkable. But she helped us call a taxi (only 2 in town) or drove us. But a car is probably preferable. No noise. No TVs. Wonderful. The rooms were great and bathroom was huge by European standards. But really it was the ultimate kindness this family showed ours that made this stay worthwhile times 100. Barbara even drove us to her favorite ice cream shop. Everything is a short train away. 20 min to Bologna. 20 to Modena 30 to Parma. Hour to Florence. 2 hours to Venice. The location is awesome. Its a farmhouse so expect roosters as your alarm clock. But it doesn’t get more authentic than this Acetaia. A thousand thumbs up.

What a delightful experience. Elena was a wonderful host, great teacher and her home was lovely. We walked to the market and had a great experience as she taught us about the various cheeses and we also met with a woman who covered balsamic vinegar. Our group of 4 added to the meal with some cheese, fresh cherries in season and chocolate. Back at her home we prepared a dessert and then the dough for for our pasta. It was great fun learning of her family and life in Italy. The meal was wonderful with wine and we ended on time.

Elena is amazing! Everything was perfect, she listened to what we envisioned and then made it happen! From the informative walk to the market, getting to see how the locals shop, to making the pasta and dessert at her beautiful home! I'm glad she was so accommodating, we went in wanting to make traditional Modena dishes and that's what we did; Elena even went as far as to let us use her homemade apricot jam grown right outside. If you want to experience traditional home cooking you have to try this experience!

Our host, Rafaela, was so friendly and welcoming. She made us feel sl at home. It was extremely personal - we got involved in every course and learnt so much about the local cuisine and culture. We stayed for a full 5 hours, cooking, chatting, laughing and learning. We cannot thank Rafaela enough! What an incredible experience that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. 🤌

Maria Angela welcomed us warmly. She had a lot of interesting things to tell and shared a lot with us. Thanks to her kindness we felt at home with her. We would definitely come back.
