Newport Travel Guides (Updated October 2026)

It was a little rainy outside, but we had a a great time anyway. Our driver, Troy, was the best. He grew up in Newport and knew a lot about everything! Very informative, very accommodating, and very funny. He made conversation with everyone onboard. Trolley was clean, comfortable, and on time. The Breakers Mansion tour was an added bonus. Just a comment on the mansion; make sure you bring earbuds so you can download the app on your phone and listen to the guided tour. There are no longer any human tour guides or headphones. It is just you and your earbuds. So glad we picked this tour and got “Troy” the Trolley driver. 😊👍

Great tour! Troy was a delight. The breaker was spectacular!

This was a great tour. Our driver, Dominic was very entertaining despite being a Yankees fan. Wonderful way to see Newport. Dominic had great historic and current information about the area and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I highly recommend taking it.

Enjoyable experience. Driver/guide was informative and helpful. The only downside was the placement of the bar on the windows on the trolley that obscured the views. They are right at eye level.

Bring a jacket if you’re cold natured. Leave packages. Free water and sodas are provided on board. Tipping is encouraged. The narrator was entertaining.

Terrific afternoon on the water with exemplary crew narrating and explaining the remarkable environment of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay! So enjoyed learning the history and lore of the lighthouses, bridge, and waterfront dwellings!

Did a Scenic Bay Cruise of Narragansett Bay from Newport and it was great!! Beautiful scenery, smooth sailing and friendly staff. There’s a bar on the ship too!!! And a restroom.Enjoyed it, highly recommend!

Very relaxing and enjoyable tour. Guide/narrator was friendly and knowledgeable. Transportation was excellent and comfortable.

The cruise was wonderful and very informative. We sat in the bow, and although windy it was fabulous. I would highly recommend experiencing this adventure.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Newport, and its heritage.Joe was Very personable as well :)

My husband and I visited Newport, Wickford Village and Providence for the first time and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. The boat cruise was perfect. We loved the crew and everything we learned while have a fun time doing it. We will take the same cruise when we return. Thank you!

Carlos was great - entertaining and informative. When booking this tour there are 2 options. The 3 hour tour includes entrance to Breakers. The 90 minute tour does not

Lady Ella Rose was a delight! She was very informative about the area and had a lot of cute stories about the people & places in the city. She made sure everyone was comfortable and answered all our questions. A definite must!!

Todd and Veronica were informative and entertaining. The 90 minute tour was just enough to see Newport highlights.

What a fabulous excursion to see the beauty and majestic mansions of Newport! Ella Rose was a vision in her dress and hat. However, it is her personality, history and personal touch that made this tour truly memorable. My favorite thing was stopping at a public park with people flying kites and the most beautiful views of the water I had ever seen. Sipping on locally made lemonade in the sun, without a care in the world, pure bliss!!! Thank you for this truly enchanting experience!

Best tour ever! We have been telling all our friends and family and encouraging them to check it out. Ray was our guide and he was so interesting and knowledgeable. We loved him and really enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend!!
