Edinburgh Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We have been to these all over UK and when we had a spare morning before jumping on our train out of Edinburgh we thought we would give this one a go. As always well acted and very slickly put together. We were familiar with some scenes but others were original.

This walk gives an historical viewpoint and anecdotal overview of the city and features landmarks and places of interest culminating in a visit to Edinburgh castle.

This was a wonderful tour. Ben was our guide and he was fantastic. He made the history entertaining and informative. We got so much more out of the experience than if we’d just gone to the castle on our own. We did the 10 AM tour, then watched the 1:00 cannon firing and explored the museums.

The tour was great. It is a full day of traveling. We didn't have any issues as far as other people on the bus. Phil was our guide/driver and he was great. Make sure to go on the Loch Ness boat tour, scenery is wonderful.

Whenever we have family or friends come to visit us in Scotland we always book a tour and they are never disappointed. Possibly the best experience and value for money in the city and you do not have to be a whisky drinker to enjoy it.

It is a long day but worth it, if you want to experience the Highlands. Ben, our driver and guide, was exceptional. Great stories, lots of history and bad jokes made it an enjoyable trip.

Douglas was an excellent tour guide. He went out of his way to help us out when we needed it and his storytelling was very enjoyable!

It is a really long day however there are toilet and refreshment stops along the way. The stop to view the Glenfinnan viaduct was exciting. We decided to climb the hill for our photos.The train ride was amazing and we were sitting on the right hand side so could view the front and back of the train as it travelled across the viaduct.Our tour director/bus driver Touva was exceptional. He did talk pretty much the whole trip but told us Scottish history stories that were entertaining and always had a reference to a particular song. Very clever!We loved our Hogwarts Express and Scottish Highland Tour. Thank you Highland Explorer Tours for a well organised trip.

Had a wonderful day with Dougie who was full of great stories and history and awful but funny cheesy jokes. He made a long day great fun with plenty of time to look around, take photos and enjoy s coffee and snack

Tova was our tour guide and he was wonderful! We got to see hairy coos on the way, plenty of stories and history was shared by him which was wonderful along the way. We had a great time!

Toni was 10 stars! He was fabulous. Funny interactive and made the tour easy!

Raj was superb! Clearly knew the history but most importantly, had the ability to make it memorable! He was attentive to all and paced the tour for the group. Truly one of the best tours we had this trip.

Can't say enough good things about this chocolate experience. Guide was knowledgeable, passionate, and great with both the kids in the group and adults. We all enjoyed learning about chocolate history as well as making our own chocolate bars and having the opportunity to sample a wide variety of chocolate. Don't pass on the hot chocolate they serve in small cups at the beginning...it's totally delicious, nothing like the powdered stuff you shake out of a bag.

Great tour!! Kyle was really insightful, knowledgeable and fun. Make the most of the tour, engage, answer questions. We had a great time.

I have never been to one of these types of tours, but I was honestly very pleasantly surprised - I thought it might be too long, but it actually flew by. It was very well organised, with proper breaks and stops that break up the travel time. They're also very considerate and offer comfort stops every certain amount of time; there are also always options to buy food on almost every stop. Our bus (Daisy) was great, very clean and comfortable, and our driver/guide Jason H (the H's for Handsome ;D) was really friendly, he offered a lot of commentary but also knew when to give people breaks and let the music play, so it was very good. At no point did it feel like too much information, so I think he did a great job, all whilst driving a coach on those roads, which is no small feat! Overall a great experience, that I can 100% recommend :)
