A great way to spend a couple of hours in Porto. The Boiler studio is a great cultural hub with tile painting and pastel de nata cooking on offer. We had a really fun experience and the staff and space was well organised and engaging. Getting to eat your Pastel De Nata’s at the end whilst enjoying a Port and Tonic was a delicious end to the event.

One of the best meals of my life
It was a joy to learn to cook authentic Portuguese food with Heitor! He welcomed us into his beautiful home, took us on a tour of the historic building and farm, then set us to work! We made an incredible 5-course meal that rates in my top 5 most delicious meals of all time. You get to choose your menu from a variety of options depending on what sounds good, which was nice. We made so much food that we left totally stuffed. All the dishes were great but the “fish a portuguesa” was particularly exceptional and featured the best tomato I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m excited to try to recreate it at home (he emails the recipes too). Heitor also grows grapes to make his own wine, and we got to drink (lots of) his amazing vinho verde with the meal! It was delicious, easy drinking and we left a bit tipsy. The farm is located about 50 minutes outside of Porto but was easy to get to via either uber or train (we did uber one way then took the train back). I would recommend this to anyone visiting Porto who is interested in a meaningful, authentic cooking experience. Note that the class took about 5 hours total so don’t try to cram other scheduled activities on the same day.

Ana was amazing! We are big cooks at home and she not only planned our meals based on the fact we are pescatarian, but also showed us lots of new tips and tricks for preparing the food. We had a wonderful time both shopping and cooking and will definitely make the recipes again.

This was an incredible experience! We first went shopping for ingredients at the Mercado do Bolhão. Very fun! Our class then worked together to make our meal. Everyone had things to do: peeling, chopping, stirring, and more! Our chef, Hugo, was excellent! My fellow classmates were wonderful! The food was delicious.I am looking forward to making these dishes at home!

Fantastic experience!
This tour and cooking class was the perfect way to spend a rainy day in Porto. It began with a tour of the Bolhao Market with tastings of oysters, chocolate, olive oil, and The smelling of spices. Some of the sausage we used in our cooking class was purchased directly from the market. Our guide and cooking teacher, Rita, was excellent. After we did the market tour, we went to a small kitchen and a boutique hotel, and made a five course meal that included octopus salad, cod, croquettes, smoked sausage, steamed clams, tempe string beans, and a delicious custard dessert. Rita was so patient and kind, letting us do every step ourselves. Then we sat down to The meal we made and had delicious wine. It was a wonderful day. Thanks to Rita and this great program to teach Portuguese cuisine.

Great class
I had a wonderfull time in this class. The visit to the market was just me and the host, but a few people came in for the class. The class was quite well interactive, and the explanations were on point. The mood in the group was friendly and comical. Despite being the only non spanish speaker they were kind enought to speak english most of the time to include me. The food was delicious, and the recepies quite clear.
