This museum was surprisingly good! It exceeded my expectations. So much to see--plan on at least 2-3 hours, more if you have the time. I wish I'd had the time and energy to stay even longer--by the end, I was walking past entire exhibits just to see everything. Pick what you're most interested in to see first.No matter what your musical tastes or interests are, there's something for everyone. Exhibits of donated wardrobe and equipment from musicians of all kinds from all eras, a room full of automated music players like player pianos and other machines, special exhibits showing how a piano and a violin are made, and instruments that range from the most primitive drum to the most modern synthesizer and mixing board--and everything in between.Plus, an entire floor is organized by region of the world/country, showing the instruments native to that area. The technology that has the free headphones they give you play the music for whatever exhibit you're near worked pretty well, and was a HUGE element of the whole experience! (Bring your own earbuds with a 3.5mm jack if you prefer, they'll plug right in to the Walkman-size box they give you.) I just wish the music excerpts could have run longer in some cases.

Huge museum with every instrument ever made from every corner of the world! Stayed 2 hours, could have stayed longer. Very well layed out; easy to navigate and the staff are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

I enjoyed our visit - a good collection with a lot of interesting pieces. The building itself is also very nice.

Small aquarium, but actually offers a lot to see. It was a lot to see, and my little niece truly had fun running around.

This is a great zoo! Visiting during the day is a joy and a great way to learn about local, AZ, fauna. Roars and Pours is also a very affordable blast! It generally happens the first Thursdays of the months in the spring and fall. Very affordable entry, free samples, very affordable drink options and the animals are often very active in the cooler evening hours.

It was a family oriented trip and we had a good time. You can take snacks and drinks inside or purchase food.

Love the Japanese Women’s Pottery. Fashion through the ages upstairs was impressive. AND, a Victor Vasarely?!?! WOW

Having an annual membership is really nice because then no need to stand in the admission line, simply walk up, have your phone scanned and you’re in! We spent the day here, but will return again next month. Our experience was wonderful, we got to catch up with the master model builder and one of the Lego employees, they are the ones who make our visits all the more memorable. It was not as crowded but there were still a number of people. When there are crowds, the atmosphere can be noisy and stressful, we prefer days when the crowds are thin, makes for a more fun day. Unfortunately we missed the holiday characters and the Noon Year’s Eve but maybe next year!

The entire thing was amazing! I took 2 of my grand daughters and they didnt want to go home. 1 ride was down but I enjoyed it so much the hubby is gonna go next time with our grand sons!

So Many Instruments of different sizes, shapes & sounds! It was a Great museum tour to do self guided with head phones for all the information for many instruments and their location and sounds.

MIM is a must visiting if you are in the area. It’s so informative and educational with so many instruments from all over the world. I’d definitely visit it many times if lived in Phoenix because 3-4 hours weren’t enough. My 11yo isn’t a big fan of museums but this one is unique and very interesting for people of any age.

As a veteran health professional I feel compelled to write this review .This zoo should be renamed -Habitat Phoenix and here is why - Each animal is catered to in this non profit organization.The projects they initiate to protect the animals is beyond exceptional .After a high recommendation at the entrance - I chose the Discovery Tour - This offers a more individualized tour with more detailed information .Kathy was my guide and driver -and she was fabulously outstanding - She has been there for eight years / The animals know that she loves them and respond often accordingly .She knows every name of each animal -from giraffes to the rhino from the orangutang to the camels - She knows all the best info - who is mating with who - which is the mother and the auntie - which of them are besties etc etc . I was riveted .I felt that I can cross a safari off my list - I had front row seats to so many animals that I wanted to see with the absolute best guide ever !!!!

Guys! They had axolotls!! That was my favorite, and got to touch the star fish and see other cool sea creatures! Finished it in about an hour.

It’s a fun zoo, lots of animas to see. Quick trip from the airport. On the weekend we went they had some interactive kids areas. Bring your water bottle, they have refill stations, the water isn’t the best tasting but better to stay hydrated. Lots of staff around to tell you about different animals. Our favorite was the tortoises and giraffes.

It’s always a fascinating scene, for me, when visiting the Aquarium. I’m a Pisces, so my energy is positively charged and my day is given so much positivity from the elements at the Aquarium. The facility is clean, staff are professional, and the SeaLife is alive!
