Bob was great. Very knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. Covered a lot of great parts of the City in 2.5 hours.

Bob was an excellent, amusing and informative guide. Also he moved at a nice and accessible walking pace, suitable for slower walkers between locations.

This is a very well paced tour. If you don’t do a dedicated Cotswold tour, this one is a must do because you get to see 2 villages within Cotswold that capture the essence of the place. We were given plenty of time to explore Avebury and Stonehenge. Bill was a great tour guide. Very witty and all around knowledgeable. He made the whole experience memorable.

A sampler of wonderful experiences made into a perfect day by driver/guide Bill…we learned all about the amazing Cotswolds, toured Avebury and hugged a stone!! Then we headed to Stonehenge for a spectacular walkabout, chatted with knowledgeable volunteers about the origins and learned lots. Bill was humorous, personable, answered all our questions and pointed out the 3 chalk horses. He even had a great British artists playlist for our way home! This day tour was perfect…thanks to Bill for the driving and for the fun!!

Seb gave us in-depth historical information on every place we went on our tour. He had knowledge I would not have expected (why there are not many trees in the area), and was honest the few times he did not have an answer. We learned much more about Stonehenge than we expected, and I so appreciated Seb’s enthusiasm for the history of the area. Loved walking around the Avebury Circle; with Seb’s help, we were able to understand what it would have looked like thousands of years ago. Seb pointed out many other unique views on our trip: a chalk horse, Old Sarum, and even where Sting lives! He took us to a great farm restaurant in the middle of nowhere.Our last stop was the Salisbury Cathedral. Seb was not able to accompany us into the church, but he had already given us plenty of information about its history.We wanted to do an individual tour so that we could learn more about all these sites, and Seb truly delivered! I’d highly recommend his tours.

As Belgians and Luxembourgers, we realized that we know our British neighbors' history very, very poorly! Thanks to you, we discovered a rich part of it, all the more so because we understood your English perfectly well, perhaps because, being of Italian origin, you make it a point to speak it calmly and without an accent that is too pronounced like the local guides. We hope that we will be able to benefit from your extensive knowledge again during our return to Southampton in September 2027!

Fantastic Stonehenge tour with Dan. It was fun, educational, and surprisingly exciting. He brought the history to life and made the site meaningful. Our half-day Stonehenge tour with Simon was the high point of our family's trip to the UK, and six months later it's still what we come back to when we talk about the trip. That's saying something, because we spent real time in London and traveled elsewhere in the country.Simon picked us up at our hotel in Bath and set the tone immediately. He treated us as guests in his country rather than passengers on a route. What followed wasn't a lecture but a day of learning through immersion. He moved across history, myth and fact, current scientific developments around the site, literary connections, and popular culture, and he kept it engaging without performing. He read the four of us quickly (my husband and I, plus our two adult children in their twenties) and shaped the day around what we were actually interested in. He asked us questions and answered ours, and he pointed out things in the countryside we would have driven past.The vehicle was clean and well-appointed, and the small group size made real conversation possible. Small-group tours cost more. I had done my research before booking and it was worth every additional pound. Stonehenge had been on my husband's bucket list for years, and by the time we left we had learned more about the site and the surrounding area than any of us expected, past and present, the kind of detail you can only get from someone who has firsthand experience.Simon also made recommendations throughout the day for places to visit and things to read, and every one of them has held up. They've extended my reading and given me threads to pull on long after the trip ended.I've been on many tours, including several trips through Europe with students and different tour companies, and this one stood apart. Simon works with a small group of guides who treat this as a craft rather than a job, and it shows in every part of the day. I rarely write reviews, but if you're heading to the UK and Stonehenge is on your list, book this one.

My wife and I were privileged to have Daniel be our guide for a full day discovering the history of Bath and the many prehistoric/geological ruins of the area. Daniel is a very knowledgable and genuine person with stories about the region. You will learn and see so much with him. You will not be disappointed! The highlight was a personal exclusive visit to Stonehenge at dusk. Beyond belief! We were inside these magical standing stones. Daniel made our trip even more special. Don’t hesitate…he’s a busy guy!

We chose the Ancient Britain tour, and honestly I don’t even know where to begin on how amazing this tour was! Daniel is such a kind, friendly and engaging person and he really makes you feel like a VIP! The pickup from our hotel in Bath was timely and seamless, from the start I knew it would be a good day, along the way he gave us value information about the area and pointed out all sorts of things. First stop was Cherhill Chalk Horse, then to Avebury which is way more than just stones, then to Kennet long barrow Neolithic tomb (it’s a bit of a hike, and the path had some water at the time due to rains, but he came prepared with wading boots aka Wellies for everyone) he was kind, slow and very patient as we made our way up the hill (I needed a rest break due to heart condition). His preparation and patience was more than exceptional! Next it was off to a wonderful cozy centuries old thatched roof pub for an amazing Yorkshire pudding wrap (with the best gravy). After that, it was on to Stonehenge! Stonehenge was utterly amazing and I felt so happy seeing it, I can’t even explain how magical it was! It has been a dream for my husband to see and he was blown away by the feeling you get at Stonehenge. It’s truly a magical place! It was also extra nice having a guide to tell you about all things Stonehenge, I liked that we went later in the day, so we practically had the place to ourselves (Daniel timed it perfectly). Daniel was one of the kindest people I have never come across, he goes the extra mile to make you feel special! I would highly recommend him for any tour! You will not be sorry you toured with Daniel at Bath Insider Tours! Best ever!!

Laurence, our tour guide, curated an amazing day for us.We started at Salisbury Cathedral, went on to Old Sarum and Avebury and finished at Stonehenge. All the while Laurence gave us historical highlights and even turned off the road to show us little known sights. To top it off we had beautiful weather! We highly recommend seeing the Salisbury area this way!

This was such a great tour. Bob is extremely knowledgeable. He know only showed us Bath he explained the evolution of it over the centuries. There were only 5 people in our group making it a true personalized tour. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the itinerary including Lacock, Avebury and Stonehenge. Jason, our tour guide and driver of our van (full with 16 guests) made the trip so much more enjoyable. Jason was extremely organized, knowledgeable with great communication skills and funny. He explained the meaning of several local names and words that came from old English, which added depth to what we barely knew from brochures. His British accent was easy for my husband and I, who are American, to comprehend. It made a huge difference to us! We’d highly recommend Jason to anyone who chooses to take this excursion.
