Sausalito Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Our Wine Country tour was fabulous. Anthony, our tour guide was very informative and entertaining. He was very easy to interact with. The van was clean and very comfortable. We visited three distinctly different wineries. All were great in their own way. We very highly recommend Edge of the World Tours.

We were a group of nine on a cruise and agreed that after two days at sea, we wanted our port stop in San Francisco to be worth getting off the ship. We wanted to hit all of the tourist attractions in San Francisco, and visit a winery, but we had tme constaints and needed some flexibility. I looked at several options of pre-set tours and the most appealing was a tour highlighted by Tours By Locals. I contacted them and they directed me to Marc Terrier, Edge of the World Tours. I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted but Marc was very patient with me. He asked a series of questions, and consequently recommended a custom private tour. After several iterations, we were able to agree on an itinerary that had something to offer for all nine of us. It fit our time restraints, and the price was reasonable.We were fortunate to get Marc as our tour guide. He was very engaging, personable, and knowledgeable. He made our tour enjoyable with his quick wit and wealth of history. He made a great recommendation for lunch and the winery, Mayo Family Winery, was a winner. It's not easy to please a diverse group of nine, but we all agreed it was a great day.Thank you Marc for making our day in San Francisco so much fun. We all walked away with a special memory.

My friend and I had a delightful experience with Captain Will for a sunset sail. We had the opportunity to actively participate in sailing across the SF Bay, which was both informative and exciting. We ended with lovely sunny cruise into home port. Captain Will is an experienced sailor, a wonderful teacher, and fun company. This sailing experience is highly recommended!

He had a beautiful sail with Will! He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we got the most out of our sail.

Be sure to prepare for curvy roads if you are prone to motion sickness. Wonderful tour that I would do again. Muir Woods is exceptional.

Lana, our guide, was AMAZING. This was my best experience in San Fran largely because I lucked out with her as a guide. Not all the guides are like her. If you can request her - do it! The Muir Woods were so beautiful as was Sausalito. This was worth the visit if you enjoy a nice walk through the wilderness, nicely combined with some leisure time along the bay.

What a uniquely entertaining experience! We got close to the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, saw a seal, raced another sail boat and laughed a lot. I learned that I’m not a good sailor, but I’m glad I figured that out before buying half a million dollar boat.

This 2 day trip was a splurge for our family, and it was worth every penny. Nicolas not only took great care of us, but he was very knowledgeable and made sure we stayed on schedule without feeling rushed. Seeing the redwoods was on my bucket list, and I couldn’t have imagined doing it any better. Our party was three generations: two grandparents, two parents, two kids (9 and 11) and Nicolas made sure every stop was engaging for each of us. From the beautiful trees to the rest stops, this trip was unbeatable. We didn’t encounter any crowds even though it was busy season. We will remember it for a lifetime. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with this company again should we have the opportunity.

Enjoyable day. Pep was our tour guide and she kept everyone entertained throughout the trip to and from Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur. The scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed a nice lunch, a sweet treat, and a stroll through Carmel before heading on to the Big Sur area.

This was an outstanding experience. Custom itinerary, 100% on time. Great communication, very clean vehicle. Really made for the perfect Napa afternoon. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Levan was incredible! He arrived early to pick us up, the car was spacious, clean and comfortable, and he provided waters for our group which was very helpful between wine tastings. Very knowledgable about the area & went above and beyond to make our trip wonderful.

🌊 Amazing Big Sur Experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had such a great time with Pep on our tour from Carmel to Big Sur! We cruised down the coast in a Tesla, stopped for some short walks, and soaked in all the amazing views. The scenery was just stunning. Pep even brought along a local specialist who knew so much about the area — that was such a cool touch! Super fun, easygoing, and really memorable. Totally recommend this tour if you want a laid-back but awesome way to see the coast!

Oh My God this was such a great day with Ben. Started with catching the ferry over to Sausalito to meet up with Ben just at the wharf / really easy to do and a great way to start off. Then a short drive and we are there - Ben was born and raised in the area and did it like the back of his hand - great stories. Ok so this is all about the trees. Amazing - I have never seen anything like it. I was not disappointed. Easy walk - we had a variety of ages from quite young to retirees (well into retirement) and Ben made sure all the way along that everyone was good. I would very happily do this trip again next year when I am back.

We have been in the Bay area many, many times but this was our first hike in Mill Valley. We are from New York. This walk was better than just going to Muir Woods. Ben was an excellent guide and had many personal stories about the place. It was not a strenuous hike, more like a walk.

This two-day tour exceeded our expectations! Our guide, Brandon, was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly accommodating. We expressed interest in visiting Fern Canyon, which is located a bit further north than the usual itinerary, and on the second day, Brandon made it happen, along with a visit to Wedding Rock. These experiences were the highlights of our trip.We would certainly choose this company again for future tours if we return to the area. Spending time with Brandon was delightful, and honestly, opting for a private tour was the best decision.Golden Horizon Travel responded quickly to all my questions.
