Melbourne Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

It’s a nice activity with lots of stops along the way so that you’re not in a tour bus nonstop. But it is a long day driving so be aware of that. John was a great tour guide that filled the longer driving times with fun and interesting facts about Australia. We only got to see 3-4 koalas but saw many, many kangaroos.

An absoluteAn absolute 5 star tour. So pleased that we did it. Our guide, Emily, was a delight, so clear, natural and knowledgeable about Melbourne. Some tours can sound a bit ‘AI generated’, but not Emily. Even better was her respectful explanations of Australia’s Indigenous people and the many cultures and nationalities that make up today’s Melbourne. Such a pleasure to hear. The three hours flew past and yet we saw and learned so much of the City of Melbourne. The Laneways coffee and finish at the lovely old pub were great touches.If you are here for a holiday, this is the perfect tour to do on day 1. For the rest of your stay, you will never wonder about where to go, eat, visit or whatever.A joy of a walking tour. 👏👏👏

It was amazing to see all the penguins come out of the water and walk right past where we were sitting. Peter was great. He told us where the best place to sit was and told us stories along the way.

Great trip Wonderful mix of facts and activities Scenery was a feast for the eyes, food was manna from the gods and the company on board and guide were beyond compare Highly recommend !!!

Was such an amazing trip our tour guide was so awesome would highly recommend, we saw koalas in the wild had an amazing lunch at this beachside town

This was a highlight of our entire Melbourne trip. We nibbled our way round the gardens (had not expected that part!) guided by the incredible Aunty Sherry who was so generous sharing her knowledge and history. Utterly enthralling and very moving - a really outstanding experience. Don't hesitate - get it booked.Incidentally, I had wondered if the gardens would be worth seeing in the middle of winter (we were there in August). They most definitely are. We had a very nice lunch at the Observatory after the tour (much nicer than such cafes often are) and then walked ourselves to exhaustion for the rest of the afternoon. The Arid Garden, the Fern Gully and the ornamental lakes were particularly glorious

Had a easy time booking tour, instructions were clear as to were to pick up tickets. Overall we had a lovely time cruising up the Yarra and learning about the city. It was friendly, tour was on time, reasonably priced as well. Would highly recommend this tour. Weather was wonderful, nice spring day.

Very nice tour, got to see koalas in the habitat at the reserve, parrots and wallabies. Took you to the coast and got to see the awesome Southern coastline at the Nobbies In the finale at the penguin walk was awesome. Definitely do the plus you get closer to where they come out of the water and go up. The hill. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and very funny, made the day go by quicker. Definitely I recommend

All staff I interacted with were happy and helpful did the VR experience then sent up to the sky deck had a look round the did the edge all very easy with no problems,Views were fantastic from the sky deck

Hugo was a great guide and I throughly enjoyed the whole tour. We learned a lot of fun and interesting things about the city and saw many places I wouldn’t have found on my own, for certain! I would highly recommend taking this tour in the first day of your visit because it gives you a great baring of the city and a list of fun places to come back and visit after the tour!
