Great experience. Tour Guide Max was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed learning about the origin of Ybor City. Particularly interesting to hear about the different immigrant groups who played a role in building the city. We had assumed it was settled entirely by Cubans. Fascinating history shared masterfully by Max.

History, but not dry facts and statistics. Vignettes presented at every stop that painted a clear picture of Ybor City's story over the years. People were presented as characters in an ongoing drama. Our guide presented each character not only in words but also used accents, gestures, and body language that made us feel we were hearing from them personally. His depth of knowledge and passion for all things Ybor City were evident which made for a wonderful experience. I recommend for the professional historian and all who love to hear a good story.

We had heard the tour guide speaking when we parked in in a lot on a previous trip to Ybor city. When our daughter joined for a holiday we wanted to take the tour. When we arrived for our tour we discovered it was was the same gentleman. Joe said he lived in Ybor city for 32 years and was a history buff. We have been on a lot of Cool Destinations tours in Europe and never disappointed, but Joe was the best ever. Joe brought the whole area to life with information and in-site and his experience it was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend the tour and if you are lucky you will get Joe.

As a Tampanian for 15 years, my only regret is not having done this tour sooner. My son and I found it very educational, entertaining and we now see Ybor city with different eyes. We truly enjoyed learning more about this great city. We highly recommend.
