The tour was very informative, a little confusing at times but I think that was user error more than the tour itself. We learned alot about miming and the towns that popped up because of it. I would highly recommend.

We learned so much about Keweenaw history! The narration was interesting and told with a sense of humor. Driving directions were excellent, giving us plenty of notice before turns.

Fantastic! This downloaded tour with a map was our only guide because there was no signal on our phones past Houghton. It was a great tour that highlighted a lot of spots along the drive we would have missed without the tour. It also included stories about the local culture that I really enjoyed. I can still see the highlights and listen to the descriptions in the app..

We loved this tour! The guide was great and gave us tons of options of places to stop and check out. This was our first time trying a guided tour and we will definitely be doing it again!

We enjoyed the audio tour for Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, but having used Shaka Guides in the past, this experience was not quite on par.The tour worked well mechanically, and much of the information offered was useful and interesting, but I would have appreciated more in depth information and recommendations for hikes, waterfalls, and local options. That aspect of the product seemed limited. It was also a bit clunky because we had to use our Google Maps on CarPlay and have the Guide Along running on a phone. Again, Shaka has a technology that allows us to display the map directly to CarPlay.Also, as relevant as copper mining is to the history of the area, much more time could have been devoted to that topic. The importance of the Finnish language to the area could also be much more fleshed out. We would also have appreciated hearing more information about the indigenous peoples, and perhaps insights as to how the UP became part of Michigan rather than Wisconsin.Some of the pronunciations and local word usages were “off”. For example, we don’t call US Route 41 “the 41” as the narrator does. And Wild Bill Mattila would be pronounced MAT-tila in Finnish, rather than Mat-TILA. We also don’t refer to the area as “the yoop” as I heard at one point in the audio. These are small things, but they reduce the authenticity of the audio guide. Utilizing a local researcher and editor would be really helpful.Overall, the Shaka Guides I’m accustomed to seem more deeply researched and offer a higher production quality. This was fine, but given a choice for our next trip — to Sedona - we’ll choose Shaka.

The cemeteries are a complete waste of time. Between the two there are fewer than twenty headstones and none are for the miners. It's all probably female relatives of affluent individuals in the area. The monastery was ok, the rum raisin brownies were the highlight...the fruit breads, don't bother for the price. The Abbey Cake probably got more flavor from the cloth it was wrapped in than the whiskey. There are much better confectionery options around Keweenaw. Definitely visit the bookstore in Copper Harbor and grab a book off the "books we love" section. I have a new favorite author because of them.

The self driving tour was great! We went pre-season on a Monday so a lot of the businesses were closed though. But we still had fun!

We highly recommend the Tour in Keweenaw Copper Country Trail. The tour was easy to follow, and the audio shared interesting history and local stories right when we reached each spot. A relaxing and enjoyable way to explore the area at our own pace.

We are so happy that we found this audio tour. It was great! We learned so much about the Keweenaw Peninsula. The fall colors were beautiful. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who is going to visit this area of Michigan. Will definitely be recommending this to friends.

This was a good self-paced audio tour that gave us a good overview of the Keweenaw peninsula with the opportunity to explore more if we wanted. It was easy to download and set up, and flexible; we did it on two different days because we were staying in Calumet, sort of in the middle. The narrator was good, easy to understand, and entertaining. Our only complaint is that we wish he had given more information about the location of public bathrooms, especially in Copper Harbor where there aren’t many. Would have saved us some time if he had pointed out that the restrooms are located in the visitors’ center, and where it is. Overall, an efficient and enjoyable way to spend our limited time.

This was an awesome accompaniment to our U.P. adventure. We learned a ton about the history and the area. We all agreed that we were grateful we had this informed gentleman's voice guiding us along. His humorous interjections made us all chuckle, as well.
