Top Tamarindo Full-day Tours

This tour was a big hit with our family and the most memorable experience of our trip. Rudy and Orlando were truly remarkable guides! We had some great conversations with Rudy and couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He and Orlando made sure our daughters (9 and 11) had a great experience! We loved swimming at the waterfall, seeing sloths, and the Volcano hike. Rain is almost a guarantee in the rainforest, be sure to bring a poncho. We had disposable ponchos, I would bring reusable if I did it again because the disposable just stuck to our skin. No need for water shoes on this trip. Llanos de Cortes is a short walk from the parking lot and the waterfall area is all sand. Sandals work fine there.

The day was Incredible!! Worth every penny! I can’t say enough good things about this day trip. I was traveling alone & felt complete safe. Crossing the boarder was made simple with a guide with us the whole time. Every place we stopped at was perfect. Looking down into an active volcano was exhilarating! Walking around Granada was beautiful. We paid $10 for a horse drawn carriage ride that was icing on the cake. The beautiful church, the chocolate tasting, the lunch, souvenir shopping, Everything was well planned & our guides went above & beyond to make the day memorable. I highly recommend this day trip. It’s well worth it!

I highly recommend this tour! We got to do horseback riding, river tubing, zip lining which included a rock climb and swing, had a lovely lunch and finished the day relaxing in the hot springs with the mud bath. The whole day was exciting and it was everything I hoped it would be. Everything went smoothly and Alberto was the best tour guide! He was so friendly and added so much fun to the experience. He even ran up and down the hill to get my other shoes from the van when I had to switch them for horseback riding. I was nervous about going solo but my tour group was lovely and we all became friends right off the bat. I would totally do this again and recommend it to anyone.

It was fun and very organized. I learned a lot about Costa Rica and would love to return to explore more.

The tour was great! We were able to see three out of six sloths and saw other animals as well. The waterfall was beautiful but you could not get close to it. 10/10 recommend this tour.

Gabriel was excellent tour guide. Very informative and helpfull and considerate!!

Gabriel’s service was beyond what we expected. From booking to the excursion to the drive home I felt safe and welcomed. The waterfalls and hot springs were absolutely amazing. He even went above and beyond by taking some of our group back to do more hiking and see more falls when some had to stay back due to physical restrictions. We even ended up booking another excursion with him directly to go river tubing and more waterfalls. The tubbing was so fun if we had more time we would be doing another one for sure!!

It was our first time visiting tamarindo and we got to see Nicaragua too! Very cool trip. Worth the money and an all-day adventure.

We had a wonderful experience. So many beautiful memories from the drive there to the amazing time we had. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience the driver was very nice and informative and kept the tour fun I highly recommend

This was an amazingly fun adventure! Well worth the price! Kevin Piña was an excellent tour guide. I definitely recommend this tour!

First of all—wow! This tour is an incredible value for the money. It was very well thought out, and every part of the experience was extremely memorable. The river tubing was definitely a highlight! It’s very approachable while still being absolutely beautiful and fun. The ziplining and hot springs were gorgeous, and the horseback riding was just as enjoyable! Highly recommend this tour—it was such a great day!

Amazing time with Miguel and Felipe! They were very friendly and shared many interesting facts of Costa Rica. 10/10 recommend for everyone!!!

The early wake up was well worth it for a full day of adventure! Our guide, Alaberto, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and shared insights about the area, terrain, and wildlife. He even took us to a few hidden gems throughout the park that we would have missed otherwise. Thank you for a great tour!

I absolutely loved this trip and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a real adventure and the opportunity to experience a little bit of Nicaragua in a day.One thing I would definitely recommend is wearing comfortable walking shoes. There is a fair amount of walking throughout the day, including at the Costa Rica–Nicaragua border. You leave the vehicle and walk through the border crossing and immigration areas, and it is a fairly long walk between the Costa Rican and Nicaraguan sides. It is completely manageable, but something worth knowing ahead of time, especially if you have mobility concerns.Breakfast and lunch were both provided on our tour and were very good. I also recommend bringing US cash in smaller bills — especially $5s and $10s, and some $1s if you have them. They are much easier for small purchases and tipping, and you don’t have to worry as much about getting change for larger bills.Masaya Volcano National Park was another highlight for me. Getting to visit an active volcano and stand looking into the incredible Santiago crater was something I absolutely loved. The volcanic landscape, the gases rising from the crater and simply knowing that you are standing at the edge of an active volcano make it a pretty unforgettable experience. It was definitely one of those moments when you stop and think, Wow, I’m actually here doing this!Granada was one of the highlights for me. Founded in 1524, it is a fascinating old city filled with history and character. I loved walking through the streets and seeing the old churches, colourful colonial architecture and beautiful courtyards hidden behind the fronts of the homes. Some areas are beautifully preserved while others feel weathered and worn, and for me that was part of what made Granada so interesting. It doesn’t feel like a polished tourist attraction — it feels like a real, living city with centuries of stories behind it.The entire day felt like an adventure, from crossing an international border on foot to seeing a completely different country, culture and way of life. It was interesting, eye-opening and memorable. If you’re staying in Costa Rica and have the opportunity to take this Nicaragua day trip, do it. I’m very glad I did.

Long day but lovely day. The weather was also super gloomy, but no one can account for that. On a brighter day, I’m sure the country is beautiful. Otherwise, what a wonderful opportunity to see another country. I think the pace was fine, and the stops were simple. There was really no need to spend extra time in these locations as there really is just one thing for you to see in each location, really, except the final boat tour.
