I had a great time at the Watch Building Experience in St. Andrews. I was greeted upon arrival by Koren and she served as my guide through the entire experience. She was knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and informative during the entire visit and you would do well to get her as your guide. We discussed various topics in a relaxed atmosphere and after explaining the choices I had in watchbands, mechanisms, faces, etc. I thought I had settled on a winning combination-----until I saw some preassemble watches sitting to the side. Long story short, I opted for a preassembled watch vice one I "put together" myself (see pic). In summation, I highly recommend the Watch Building Experience in St. Andrews. The watches are beautiful and Koren is an excellent guide.

My experience at Kartel Scotland for their watch-building session was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was warm and welcoming, setting a perfectly relaxed tone for the creative session. I was blown away by the fabulous range of options available; the variety of cases, dials, and high-quality straps made it incredibly easy to design a timepiece that felt uniquely personal and stylish. ​What truly made the day stand out, however, was the amazing staff member who guided me through the choices. She was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable, making the entire experience feel personal rather than just a transaction. It was fascinating to chat with her while she expertly put the watch together as I waited, ensuring every detail was perfect. If you're looking for a memorable, premium experience in Scotland, I cannot recommend Kartel highly enough!

The experience was wonderful. The owner was in store the day we went and he explained everything very thoroughly and showed us different combinations.

Visited the main St Andrews shop in Scotland, the gentleman in the shop was extremely helpful, knowledgeable about the watches, how made, history of the brand and wide array of faces and straps available. I have to say these are beautiful watches, real prices of art and quality feel. Yes the movement is Japanese at present but proven reliability. I ended up with a gunmetal Knoydart on a leather strap. Brilliant experience. Staff member was really helpful and went above and beyond. I thought you got to choose the watch face and hands etc which was my mistake. You essentially choose a watch off the shelf and pair it with a strap. There is plenty to choose from and I’m happy with the watch I got.

We went to the shop for a watch building experience for my husband's birthday. From the minute we walked into the shop the experience was fantastic. You can tell there's real care behind the brand and the experience. I was an observer and we were offered drinks immediately along with some nice Scottish shortbread. We were aware of the brand but the explanation behind the business really drove home the reasoning behind the beautiful simplicity of the designs. Each option and variation was explained and the thought behind the design as well as the options that currently weren't in stock in store. We had a fantastic time, felt really looked after and came away with something to be cherished for a lifetime! Thank you Dale, we had a fantastic experience that we will remember for a very long time!

This is a must try! Dill was absolutely amazing, complimentary whiskey and snacks were really good. They were so loving and patient. I got this for my partner and I’ve never seen him happier.

A great experience. Ben was informative, told the story of watch making in the local area and then helped me to design my own watch. A number of styles, faces, colours and straps allowed me to pick a watch that I wanted. Whilst ‘building it ‘ was perhaps a little over-egging the pudding, I did put the pieces together and helped design my personal engraving - with a lot of help from Ben.In sum, this was a great hour or so - an ideal present for those folks (like me) who are difficult to buy for. And it was complemented with a bit of millionaire’s shortbread washed down with a fine Aberfeldy!

Given as a birthday gift by my wife, we both attended and had a fabulous experience with Dale. What a laugh we both had or was it just at me. We left with 2 watches a had a great time.

Just returned from a watch building experience I received as a gift. Could not recommend highly enough. While the voucher said an hour, I spent almost 2 in the company of Ben. Had the fortune of being the only customer that morning, so after an introduction into Kartel, followed by a history of watch making in the area, general chat on watches of all types and then had a great opportunity to look at the whole Kartel range and all the options available. In the end I purchased a Cameron with a black and white lambs wool strap. An experience for those who love watches or are just looking for something a little different in St Andrews.

A very fun and different experience. Dale is good company and the watches are cool. They both look good and have solid movements in the back. Shop aesthetic is great and snacks and drinks throughout the visit. Easy to recommend!

Used my watch building experience voucher as an extra birthday treat had a good time in the well kept shop. Lots of chat and help for the staff on the day. Would recommend going up and making a day of it in St Andrew’s
